In-House Tax Senior Consultant
The opportunity
As our In-House Tax Senior Consultant you will assist with meeting the firm’s tax obligations with a particular focus on Fringe Benefits Tax reporting and compliance. You will join an established team of tax experts that has an in-depth knowledge of both tax and accounting compliance, reporting and transactional work.
This is a Parental Leave coverage for 6 months and can be performed from any of our EY offices across Australia. The role can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly/ remotely. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities
- Prepare monthly reconciliation for Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT)
- Support in the preparation of FBT returns
- Prepare monthly GST review workpapers
- Review vendors for WHT obligations
- Prepare and post journals
- Support in identifying and implementing process improvement ideas
- Ad hoc requests
Skills and attributes for success
- An understanding of tax concepts, particularly FBT and GST
- Detailed accounting knowledge and basic process flow is essential
- Good judgement and communication skills
Ideally, you will also have the skills below, however these are not essential:
- Advanced level in Excel
- Experience in SAP
