We are seeking a motivated professional to join our dynamic Global Compliance and Reporting Team ideally based in Warrang – Sydney although this role can be performed from any of our EY offices across Australia.

As our Funds Operations Manager, you will be a part of our Middle Office Operations team where you will play a central role in delivering operational excellence for leading investment funds. You’ll work closely with experienced professionals and global stakeholders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across fund administration processes. From monitoring valuations and reconciliations to managing cashflows and expense controls, your work will help clients navigate complex operational landscapes and achieve their strategic objectives.

 

As part of EY Managed Services’ Middle Office Operations team, you will play a vital role in supporting the integrity and efficiency of fund operations. Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Oversight of Core Controls: Manage daily reconciliations between ABOR and IBOR, monitor NAV and valuation processes, and ensure compliance with valuation policies.
  • Data and Pricing Assurance: Validate data accuracy, review fund price thresholds, and perform checks on price delivery and spreads to maintain market alignment.
  • Cashflow and Expense Management: Reconcile cashflows promptly, maintain custody fee accruals, and oversee expense tracking, invoicing, and rebate calculations.
  • Governance and Strategic Support: Prepare fund budgets, conduct fund viability reviews, and monitor performance fee calculations to support informed decision-making.
  • Collaboration and Issue Resolution: Work closely with fund administrators and internal teams to resolve exceptions, escalate issues, and ensure timely processing across complex fund structures.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline (preferred).
  • 5–8 years’ experience in Wealth & Asset Management, Fund Operations, or a related Financial Services middle office environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel (including data analysis and reporting).
  • Familiarity with fund administration processes, NAV oversight, reconciliations, and expense management would be highly regarded.
