The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Director to join our Financial Services Risk Management practice in Sydney on a full-time basis. As a senior leader in our specialised Operational Risk and Transformation team, you will shape and grow our data risk, AI risk and records risk business while leading high-impact engagements for top-tier financial services clients.

Your key responsibilities

You will provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of complex engagements and accounts, with responsibility for market relevance, commercial performance and sustained client impact. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Originate, shape and oversee major advisory, assurance and transformation programs for data management, AI risk management and records management.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to executive and board-level stakeholders on risk strategy, governance, regulatory response and investment priorities.
  • Set engagement direction and governance, challenge key judgements and maintain accountability for quality, commercial performance and client outcomes.
  • Develop differentiated propositions and integrated business and technology solutions spanning data lifecycle management, regulatory reporting and risk and control assurance.
  • Lead business development, account planning, proposals and market campaigns, establishing a sustainable pipeline of opportunities.
  • Build the practice through senior talent development, workforce planning, coaching and an inclusive high-performance culture.
  • Strengthen market profile through client networks, external forums and thought leadership on emerging data, AI and records risks.

Skills and attributes for success

You will bring deep market credibility, strong commercial leadership and the ability to influence executive stakeholders while mobilising teams to deliver complex outcomes.

  • A strong record of developing executive relationships and being recognised as a trusted adviser on complex risk and transformation matters.
  • Demonstrated success originating and converting significant opportunities, leading proposals and growing strategic accounts.
  • Proven oversight of large, multidisciplinary programs with accountability for commercial, quality and risk outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of relevant Australian and international regulatory expectations, including those of APRA and ASIC, and the ability to anticipate market implications.
  • Strong leadership of senior teams, including talent development, succession planning and practice capability building.
  • A recognised point of view and the ability to build market presence through networks, forums and thought leadership.
