At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

Join EY and help to build a better working world.

Associate Partner Solution Architect, Microsoft Cyber Security

EY Microsoft Alliance | Cyber Transformation | AI-enabled Security Operations

This is a senior market-facing role for a cyber security leader who can turn the Microsoft Security platform into client outcomes, build trust with CISOs and CIOs, shape complex cyber transformation programmes.

The opportunity

At EY, we help organisations build confidence in a rapidly changing cyber threat landscape. As an Associate Partner Solution Architect, Microsoft Cyber Security, you will play a pivotal role in shaping, selling and delivering cyber transformation programmes built around the Microsoft Security ecosystem.

This role sits at the intersection of cyber strategy, Microsoft platform depth, alliance growth and executive client impact. You will work closely with EY cyber, technology and industry teams, Microsoft account and technical teams, and senior client stakeholders to design secure, scalable and commercially compelling solutions that reduce risk, improve resilience and enable digital transformation.

The right candidate will bring credibility with CISOs, CIOs and technology executives, practical experience across cloud security and security operations, and the commercial drive to help grow a distinctive Microsoft cyber security business in the market.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead Microsoft cyber security transformation programmes: Shape and deliver complex cyber transformation initiatives using Microsoft Security capabilities across Sentinel, Defender XDR, Defender for Cloud, Entra ID, Purview, Intune, Azure, Copilot for Security and adjacent Microsoft cloud services.
  • Design secure-by-default architectures: Translate client risk, regulatory and business requirements into secure enterprise architectures, reference patterns and implementation roadmaps across cloud, hybrid, identity, data protection and security operations environments.
  • Grow the EY Microsoft Alliance in cyber security: Work with EY and Microsoft teams to originate opportunities, build joint go-to-market propositions, activate Microsoft funding or field motions where relevant and convert alliance relationships into measurable pipeline and revenue.
  • Advise senior cyber and technology stakeholders: Engage CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, CROs and business executives on cyber risk, resilience, operating model choices, investment trade-offs and value realisation.
  • Drive security operations and SecOps modernisation: Lead solution design for SOC transformation, SIEM migration, detection engineering, threat hunting, incident response, vulnerability management, automation, SOAR and AI-enabled analyst workflows using Microsoft Sentinel and related platforms.
  • Embed identity, data and cloud security into transformation: Design solutions that integrate Zero Trust, privileged access, identity governance, endpoint protection, data loss prevention, information protection, cloud security posture management and secure application delivery.
  • Lead delivery with commercial and risk discipline: Own architecture quality, delivery mobilisation, scope clarity, risk management, stakeholder alignment and value realisation across complex pursuits and programmes.
  • Build capability and market presence: Develop reusable cyber offerings, coach high-performing teams, contribute to thought leadership and help build a recognised market position for EY’s Microsoft cyber security capability.

What you will help clients solve

  • How to modernise security operations using Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, automation and AI without increasing operational complexity.
  • How to strengthen cloud, identity and data security while accelerating digital, AI and Microsoft platform adoption.
  • How to reduce cyber risk exposure across critical assets, users, endpoints, workloads, applications and sensitive data.
  • How to move from fragmented tooling to an integrated Microsoft Security architecture with clear governance, operating model and measurable outcomes.
  • How to align cyber investments to business risk, regulatory expectations, resilience objectives and board-level confidence.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Deep cyber security architecture experience across security operations, cloud security, identity, data protection and enterprise security architecture.
  • Hands-on credibility with Microsoft Security technologies, particularly Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Azure security services.
  • Ability to engage senior executives as a trusted adviser, translating complex cyber and platform topics into clear business narratives, investment cases and prioritised roadmaps.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including experience shaping pursuits, building pipeline, managing alliances and connecting technology solutions to client outcomes.
  • Pragmatic delivery leadership across multidisciplinary teams, including client teams, Microsoft teams, EY delivery teams, offshore capability and third-party vendors.
  • Confidence operating in ambiguity, balancing strategic vision with delivery detail, risk discipline and commercial reality.
  • A growth mindset, strong market presence and willingness to help build a high-quality Microsoft cyber security practice.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Extensive experience in cyber security architecture, cyber transformation, cloud security, security operations or technology risk consulting.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering Microsoft-based cyber security solutions across enterprise or regulated environments.
  • A strong understanding of security frameworks and design principles such as Zero Trust, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, MITRE ATT&CK, cloud security reference architectures and secure-by-design delivery.
  • Experience leading complex client engagements, pursuits or programmes in a consulting, advisory, systems integration or technology services environment.
  • Executive stakeholder experience across cyber, technology, risk and business leadership groups.
  • Ability to work in Australia with a willingness to support clients across geographies as required.

Ideally, you will also have

  • Microsoft certifications across Security, Azure, Sentinel, Defender, Entra, Purview, Copilot for Security or related cloud architecture areas.
  • Cyber security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, SABSA, GIAC or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with SOC transformation, SIEM migration, managed security services, detection engineering, threat intelligence, threat hunting or incident response.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, energy, government, health, critical infrastructure or consumer products.
  • Experience co-selling, co-delivering or building solutions with Microsoft field, partner or engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow SecOps, Azure DevOps, Logic Apps, Power Platform, data engineering or AI-enabled security workflows.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a credible cyber security leader who can operate in the market, in the boardroom and in delivery. You will be commercially minded, technically grounded and outcome-focused. You will know how to build trust with clients, challenge weak assumptions and help organisations make practical cyber investment decisions.

You will thrive if you enjoy building something important, not just filling a role. This is an opportunity to work directly with senior EY and Microsoft stakeholders to grow a differentiated cyber security business and create meaningful outcomes for clients.

What makes this role unique

This role goes beyond traditional solution architecture. You will be a cyber security market maker, Microsoft alliance builder and transformation architect. You will help clients use the Microsoft Security ecosystem to modernise cyber defence, reduce risk and enable technology-led growth with confidence.
