Job Purpose:


To work within the FS HR Business Partner team, partnering with EY Channel Islands, ensuring that the best people solutions are delivered to meet the strategic imperatives of the business. Provide commercial people-related advice and guidance to leadership and management.

 

Responsibilities:


• Works closely with local Leadership and all services lines in Channel Islands to ensure that the day to day HR/People agenda is effectively delivered and managed.  Ensures that all necessary people management and development activity required to support the business is delivered in the most professional and effective manner.


• Anticipates issues and needs within the business and address these effectively providing a first-class client service to management.

 


• Evaluate requests and initiatives from the business before deciding an appropriate response. Delivers the best fit people solutions by ensuring the highest quality and best value results for their service lines.

 

• Effectively manage a full case load of ER issues from capability, disciplinaries, grievances and informal people issues.


• Works closely with the people leads and at times, individuals from the business leadership team to assist them with the development of a relevant people agenda, always in line with the overall FSO UK and Europe Middle East India & Africa (EMEIA) FS people strategy and initiatives.  Builds and maintains influential relationships with business leaders and managers working closely with them to co-develop solutions to meet their business needs.


• Provides insight around people issues within the business and a challenging, robust point of view on business decisions and their impact upon people.  Challenges and influences the business to ensure the most appropriate course of action.


• Ensures that the Regional strategic people imperatives are met within their business or specific services lines (audit, tax) where appropriate.


• Proactively manages, oversees and inputs to the key people processes for their business area including salary review, performance cycle and Talent development etc.

 

• Focus on employee engagement, highlighting any potential issues with the relevant Talent Partners or Leadership team. Provide advice and coaching on how to address areas requiring attention

 

• Identify and plan for resource needs, considering all options to fill the gap, including internal moves, developmental assignments and recruitment of external hires. Participate in interviewing and plan for their successful integration, operating as a go-to person as they become established

 

• Act as a key stakeholder for the wider Talent team in the innovation and implementation of change initiatives. Tailor centrally designed programmes to fit with the local business area or jurisdictional needs and ensure adequate communication and support for implementation

 

•Coordination of local disability services (GET, JET etc.) and alignment of all respective affected areas like recruitment and retention

 

•Maintaining the local relationships to diversity related organizations to set up collaboration and improve the image of the EY’s local brand

 

• Reviewing all workplace policies and procedures, ensuring that these are all diverse and inclusive and according to any local legislation (Example; update of all family related policies)

 

• Work closely with FS and UKI Talent colleagues to align Talent process and engage in the Talent Transformation Programme to seek efficiencies for the CI Talent Team

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Experience, Qualifications & Personal Qualities:


• Strong HR technical skills that have been honed and proven through practical application.

 

• Strong ER skills with a practical application of managing performance as well as conducting formal ER meetings and investigations.


• Ability to cope with a role that involves the transactional and operational as well as bigger picture thinking.


• Experience of working within a fast paced environment where quality delivery and client service is key.

 

• Commercial and pragmatic approach balanced with a high degree of sensitivity and discretion.


• Ability to be resilient, practical and a self starter, comfortable with working on own and with teams.


• Possesses leading edge knowledge of contemporary HR practices.


• Strong Excel skills ideal.


• CIPD qualified.  A post graduate qualification in a Business or Human Relations discipline is desirable.
