The opportunity

 

As a Technical Product Manager for APAC AV Services, you are responsible for design, engineering and L3 support for a variety of audio-visual products used in EY meeting rooms and collaboration spaces in China and elsewhere in our Asia Pacific area.  Under the guidance of an AV Product Manager, you will identify Chinese-made AV devices that meet our needs, evaluate them for a wide variety of collaboration use cases, document them and support them.  You will also work to gain security certification for promising devices, and smoothly transition these devices to EY’s AV Support and Operations teams.  Concurrently, you will provide onsite hands-on AV support to our Qianhai Innovation Center in Shenzhen. Among the devices in scope are MTR’s, video conferencing cameras and camera bars, displays (LCD, DV LED and touch), room controllers, in-room audio equipment and other products that taken together create a consistent meeting experience for EY users.

 

More specifically the role manages the end-to-end product lifecycle, which includes:
•    Identifying business and functional requirements and finding products that may meet those requirements
•    Evaluating and testing those products against requirements provided by our business customers and the enterprise, and selecting the most appropriate solution
•    Determining if the devices meet the stated use cases or fill gaps on our AV capability roadmaps
•    Monitoring and driving adoption of the product
•    Driving marketing and sales of the product with EY’s internal customers
•    Managing vendors and internal teams that support the product, to ensure optimal service
•    Ensuring security compliance for the product
•    Assisting in and planning the portfolio’s financials and TCO

 

Your key responsibilities

 

The Product Manager will spend the bulk of their time in three broad areas:

  •  Proactively researching and evaluating new technologies that may improve the meeting experience in China.  This includes:
  •  Finding and evaluating prospective products that meet requirements this role gathered
  • Developing first-of-a-kind products, including all operational and support aspects
  • Managing pilots utilizing our global service delivery team
  • Proactively partnering with Chinese and APAC Business Relationship Management to engage customers in adopting the products
  • Partnering with Service Adoption to prepare business change materials and industrialize the product
  • Reporting product utilization and continuously driving for improved adoption
  • Partnering with stakeholders in China, across APAC and around the world to align roadmaps and optimize the user’s overall AV experience
  • Provide onsite hands-on support for our Qianhai Innovation Center in Shenzhen

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

  • Knowledge of how audio-visual capabilities bring value to a business; AV design and/or engineering experience a significant plus
  • Experience providing hand-on support of executive level AV needs, sometimes under pressure as events or meetings are taking place
  • Strong verbal and written English, strong cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to draft effective communications in English
  • History of working successfully with team members and vendors in a variety of cultures, countries and time zones

 

To qualify for the role you must have

 

  • Proven experience in product management and in service delivery
  • Exhibit emotional intelligence in navigating cross-cultural interactions in a complex business environment
  • Drive leadership performance in themselves and others
  • Passionate about AV and determined to do their best

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Base level knowledge of Microsoft 365 and common AV devices from Samsung, LG, Poly, Logitech, Jabra, Crestron and other major manufacturers
  • Relevant certifications from major vendors such as Crestron, Polycom, Cisco, etc. desirable
  • Deep experience designing and supporting complex AV spaces
  • CTS essential; CTS-D or CTS-I extremely valuable
