The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our Valuations, Modelling & Economics team, focused on Financial Services sector, within Strategy and Transactions service line in Singapore.
We work across financial services sector (fintech, digital banking, traditional banking, insurtech and insurance, wealth & asset management) and operate in a broad range of disciplines including:
- M&A and fundraising valuation diligence
- Financial modelling for M&A and market entry (JV, greenfield, etc.)
- Valuation for financial reporting
- Financial modelling for FP&A (business forecasting and planning)
- Data analytics and visualization
- Other, bespoke model development
Your key responsibilities
- Have a primary focus on valuation and financial modelling to deliver projects for financial service sector clients throughout Asia
- Advise clients on M&A deals and strategic corporate finance issues
- Create and present insightful and compelling management presentations and valuation reports
- Use data analysis to address complex corporate finance and strategy problems
- Be a part of project teams comprising of colleagues from different competencies (Strategy, Transaction Strategy Execution, Transaction Diligence, Business Consulting)
- Build strong working relationships with senior clients, including influence, advice and support to key decision makers
- As part of your career development, you will: participate in sales opportunities with senior team members and clients; assist in preparing proposal documents; be supported in building client relationships at all levels
Skills and attributes for success
- Critical thinking, combined with strong numerical and analytical skills
- Prior valuation knowledge with proven ability to deliver business valuations
- Financial modelling mindset to be able to structure and develop complex but easy to use financial models
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Commitment, grit and ability to work in a fast-paced/ investment environment
To qualify for the role you must have
- A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, or Mathematics
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the fields of Valuation and Financial Modelling
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
- Good knowledge of valuation methods and concepts (deal valuation - DCF, DDM, Market Approach)
- Ability to read and understand financial statements
- Ability to quickly create high-quality financial models (e.g., cash flow, integrated financial statement, operational and decision support models) using best practice techniques and applying sound commercial judgment
- A strong work ethic and the ability to adapt to new challenges in a collaborative team environment
Ideally, you also have (or are pursuing)
- CA/CPA or CFA
- Experience in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, carve outs
- Experience gained within another large professional services organization
- Established networking skills in a relevant industry
