Financial Statement Proofreader
We are looking for a dynamic person to join our Enterprise Support System (ESS) group as a Financial Statement Proofreader. ESS is our team of self-motivated individuals who support our Partners and Client Servers and are a key part of our Core Business Services team. We keep our organization running strong by working to deliver exceptional service, supporting EY’s growth and profitability, in line with its vision of building a better working world.
Our FS Proofreaders are driven administrative professionals who enjoy teaming with colleagues while striving to understand and anticipate needs to exceed expectations. On any given day, your key responsibilities may include:
Proofreading Support
- Document review: Reconcile original financial statements and/or proof against copy to detect and mark typographical and grammatical errors
- Formatting: Check for proper layout of text & graphics, as well as for compositional errors using proofreading editing marks
- Updating: Electronic corrections and rearranging text under established formats and styles
- Finalization: Ensure correct finalization including preparation of client deliverables and archiving
- Liaison: Follow up with managers in regard to workflow management and planning
- Backup: Assisting with rolling forward CaseWare files
Overtime required as needed
Teaming
Participate in meetings and educational events, contribute to team projects, provider backup for absent colleague, and assist team members with deadlines, when possible.

- Proven ability to meet multiple and/or unexpected deadlines in a demanding fast-paced environment
- Develop and maintain relationships to efficiently leverage expertise
- Act as an ambassador for new technology and processes, and eager to engage in continual learning and development.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Post secondary education and/or equivalent relevant experience
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with proven ability to learn customized software/tools
- Strong written and oral communication
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Post-secondary education in English, grammar and/or proofreading
- Professional services firm experience
