The opportunity

EY's Risk Consulting practice helps leading Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) organizations address business, operational, technology, and financial risks as they grow and transform.

 

As a Staff Consultant, you will work as part of client engagement teams supporting risk consulting, process improvement, controls, compliance, and transformation initiatives. This role provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and early-career professionals to develop consulting, business, and industry knowledge while working alongside experienced professionals serving some of the world's most innovative organizations.

 

You will gain exposure to business processes, risk management, internal controls, finance operations, technology-enabled transformation, and emerging challenges facing TMT companies.

 

Your key responsibilities

As a Staff Consultant, you will support project teams in delivering high-quality client services by:

  • Assisting with risk consulting and transformation engagements for TMT clients
  • Supporting documentation of business processes, risks, and controls
  • Participating in client interviews, workshops, and walkthroughs
  • Assisting with testing activities, data analysis, and project deliverables
  • Supporting assessment of business processes and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Helping gather, organize, and analyze client information and documentation
  • Assisting with preparation of presentations, reports, and client-ready materials
  • Collaborating with team members across multiple disciplines and service lines
  • Developing an understanding of risk management, internal controls, compliance, and business operations
  • Supporting project management activities, including status tracking and coordination of deliverables
  • Building relationships with clients and team members while contributing to engagement success

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Economics, Data Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 0-2 years of professional experience in consulting, audit, risk management, business operations, technology, finance, or related areas
  • Interest in serving Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) companies
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
  • Willingness to learn new concepts, business processes, and technologies
  • Ability to travel as needed for client engagements
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Interest to pursue certifications such as CPA, CIA, PMP, or similar
  • Experience working with high-growth environments
  • Familiarity with complex revenue models (subscription, usage-based, multi-element)
  • Exposure to risk and control frameworks within finance systems

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.  The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $69,700 to $115,200.  The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $83,700 to $130,900.  Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.  In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
  • Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
