The opportunity
Ernst & Young Capital Advisors, LLC (EYCA) offers investment banking services through a global network of EY mergers & acquisitions, debt capital markets and equity capital markets professionals. The global EY network offers a comprehensive suite of services, and EY firms consistently rank among the leading financial services firms based on the number of completed transactions globally.
You will join a team of investment banking professionals advising founder-owned and sponsor-backed middle-market businesses, as well as global corporates. Our team executes across the full deal lifecycle – from origination and positioning through marketing, diligence, and closing. The role offers significant responsibility and direct exposure to Managing Directors, with the expectation that Vice Presidents take ownership of transaction execution and client management, as well as build commercial relationships over time.
Your key responsibilities
As an Investment Banking Vice President, you will play a central role in originating and executing M&A and capital raising engagements from kickoff through close. Responsibilities include leading the preparation and review of key materials (pitch books, CIMs, management presentations, financial models, data rooms, etc.), serving as a primary point of contact for clients and counterparties, and coordinating all aspects of the transaction process, while overseeing junior team members and driving workstreams forward with a high degree of autonomy.

Experience with the M&A and capital raising process, supported by a strong technical foundation in accounting, corporate finance, and financial analysis

Ability to independently manage multiple transaction workstreams in a fast-paced environment

Strong judgement and attention to detail across all phases of the deal lifecycle

Effective communicator with the ability to interface directly with senior client executives and counterparties

Proven ability to lead and develop junior team members while maintaining high execution standards

Commercial awareness and interest in developing client relationships and sector expertise over time
To qualify for the role, you must have

Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree optional
-
5-7+ years of investment banking experience, with direct M&A execution experience required
-
Demonstrated experience contributing meaningfully to transactions from start to close

Existing Series 7 and/or 79 plus Series 63 securities licenses (in good standing), or ability to obtain

Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including the ability to exercise sound independent judgment

Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills

Willingness and ability to travel as necessary

You must either reside in or be within commutable distance to your office location
Ideally, you’ll also have

Experience in technology or tech-enabled services transactions

Experience working with founder-owned and/or private equity-backed businesses

Exposure to middle-market transactions

Interest in contributing to business development over time

Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $150,000 to $185,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
