Tax - Indirect Tax - Unclaimed Property Services - Staff

 

The Opportunity 

Our Unclaimed Property Service Delivery Center (UP SDC) consists of unclaimed property professionals specializing in the recovery of assets, reporting of assets to applicable states, and assisting our clients with unclaimed property audits, voluntary disclosure agreements and policy and procedure enhancements. Examples of assets include uncashed checks, unapplied accounts receivable credits, unredeemed gift cards, etc. Our UP SDC assists clients, which vary in all industries and size of companies, in managed services, to comply with state unclaimed property rules and regulations. In addition, UP SDC provides outsourcing of printing services for non-UP documents.

 

Your key responsibilities

As a Staff, you’ll likely spend much of your time supporting client consultations and challenging the unclaimed property and escheat approach for optimal effectiveness.  We’ll look to you to develop strong relationships with our clients and team effectively with internal resources.  To make that happen, we’ll look to you to implement your knowledge of unclaimed property concepts and requirements.  You can expect to be working in a highly collaborative culture, where listening to and sharing information with colleagues is an essential part of the role.

 

  • Contributing to client satisfaction by providing timely and responsive services and work products
  • Staying informed of current technical developments and effectively apply knowledge to client situations
  • Thoroughly and accurately analyze information; prepare quality, practical approaches to the client's unclaimed property situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions
  • Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex unclaimed property concepts.
  • Participate in and contribute to achieving team goals

 

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A Bachelor's degree and 1 to 3 years of related work experience
  • Broad exposure to state and local taxation
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and verbal/written communication skills

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Ability to obtain CPA certification, US Bar membership or professional designation from the IPT
  • Technical experience related to compliance, audit defense and consulting for abandoned and unclaimed property services
  • Performance and process advisory experience related to unclaimed property compliance

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.  The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $55,300 to $91,300.  The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $66,500 to $103,600.  Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.  In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
