The opportunity
The Service Delivery Center is made up of high-performing, U.S.-based professionals who work closely with EY engagement teams to deliver project-based work and managed services to government clients. The Service Delivery Center is a core component of the Government & Public Sector practice.
We currently have an opportunity for a Data, Application & Automation Delivery Senior to join our growing AI & Data practice. In this role, you will build, maintain, and enhance the data platforms, databases, applications, codebases, reports, integrations, and automations that support client operations.
You will independently own defined features or technical workstreams and contribute throughout the solution lifecycle, from requirements and design through development, testing, release, maintenance, and continuous improvement. You will work with EY engagement teams and client stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions, resolve complex issues, and improve the quality and efficiency of established systems and processes.
Your key responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, enhance, and support data platforms, databases, applications, codebases, integrations, analytics products, and business-process automations
- Own defined features or technical workstreams and coordinate their delivery from requirements through development, testing, release, and ongoing support
- Translate functional, operational, and technical requirements into solution components, development tasks, acceptance criteria, and testable outcomes
- Develop and maintain Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and related integrations
- Develop and enhance dashboards, reports, semantic models, and analytics products using Power BI, Tableau, or comparable technologies
- Design, develop, and support data-ingestion, extraction, transformation, loading, validation, and integration processes
- Write and optimize SQL queries, scripts, stored procedures, data transformations, and other database components
- Maintain and enhance existing applications, scripts, APIs, scheduled processes, workflow automations, and reusable code components
- Develop or modify integrations among databases, applications, cloud services, Microsoft 365 technologies, and external systems
- Apply established development, testing, documentation, release, security, and change-management practices
- Review code, queries, application configurations, automation logic, data models, test results, and technical documentation
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex defects, failed jobs, data-quality issues, application problems, integration failures, and performance concerns
- Perform root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions for recurring technical or operational issues
- Support releases, platform changes, data migrations, application upgrades, and modernization activities
- Identify opportunities to replace manual processes, improve existing workflows, reduce recurring defects, and increase solution reliability
- Balance planned development and enhancement work with operational needs, defects, support requests, and technical debt
- Guide Staff professionals in completing technical tasks, following delivery standards, and resolving development or support issues
- Coordinate with developers, data engineers, analysts, platform specialists, and engagement-team professionals
- Participate in client and engagement-team discussions to clarify requirements, explain technical issues, demonstrate enhancements, and communicate delivery progress
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, data flows, configuration details, operating procedures, test results, release notes, and known-issue guidance
- Support compliance with applicable security, privacy, accessibility, data-governance, and client-specific delivery requirements
- Deliver engagement-specific responsibilities in accordance with established scope, quality, schedule, service, security, and client requirements

- Strong understanding of data integration, data quality, database, reporting, application, and workflow-automation concepts
- Ability to understand existing systems and codebases, troubleshoot issues, and implement maintainable enhancements
- Strong SQL, data analysis, and technical problem-solving skills
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across data, application, integration, automation, and reporting components
- Understanding of solution lifecycle practices, including requirements, design, development, testing, release, maintenance, and retirement
- Ability to apply effective source-control, testing, documentation, release, and quality-management practices
- Ability to balance new development with maintenance needs, production issues, support requests, and technical debt
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to reliable, accurate, and maintainable work products
- Ability to review the work of Staff professionals and provide clear, constructive technical guidance
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, identify dependencies, and communicate progress, risks, and blockers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues and recommendations clearly
- Collaborative working style and the ability to build productive relationships across distributed EY and client teams

To qualify for the role, you must have
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher
- Must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3–5+ years of related professional experience
- Must be comfortable working in-person as needed
- Relevant hands-on experience developing, maintaining, enhancing, or supporting data, application, analytics, or automation solutions
- Experience with SQL and relational database concepts, including queries, data structures, integrations, performance, and data quality
- Development or scripting experience using Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, R, or a comparable language
- Experience with data-extraction, transformation, loading, ingestion, integration, and validation processes
- Experience developing or maintaining Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps and Power Automate
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or a comparable business-intelligence and data-visualization platform
- Experience maintaining or enhancing applications, scripts, workflows, codebases, data pipelines, integrations, or scheduled processes
- Experience with source control, testing, code review, technical documentation, release practices, and structured issue tracking
- Experience independently owning features, components, or defined technical workstreams
- Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Flexibility and ability to work effectively with nationally distributed teams
- Ability to prioritize assignments, meet deadlines, track open issues, and communicate risks or blockers
- Excellent English-language skills, both written and verbal
Consistent with EY’s collaborative working model, the role is expected to include 60% in-person engagement in support of effective teaming and delivery, subject to client and business requirements.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience working with Microsoft Dataverse, SharePoint, Power Pages, Power BI semantic models, or related Microsoft 365 and Power Platform technologies
- Experience with cloud data technologies or platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Databricks, Snowflake, or comparable technologies
- Experience with API development, system integration, scheduled processing, middleware, or event-driven solutions
- Experience supporting production applications, databases, data platforms, analytics environments, or automated business processes
- Experience with data migration, platform modernization, legacy-system enhancement, or cloud transformation
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, alerting, operational metrics, or service-quality measures
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata, lineage, access controls, retention, privacy, and secure data-handling practices
- Experience developing solutions for government clients or within environments that require formal security, documentation, change-control, and approval processes
- Experience guiding junior developers or reviewing the work of other technical team members
- Relevant Microsoft, Power Platform, cloud, data, agile delivery, or software-development certifications

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $65,500 to $134,000. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $78,600 to $152,100. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
