The opportunity
The Service Delivery Center is made up of high-performing, U.S.-based professionals who work closely with EY engagement teams to deliver project-based work and managed services to government clients. The Service Delivery Center is a core component of the Government & Public Sector practice.
We currently have an opportunity for a Data, Application & Automation Delivery Staff professional to join our growing AI & Data practice. In this role, you will help build, maintain, and enhance the data platforms, databases, applications, codebases, reports, integrations, and automations that support client operations.
Working as part of an experienced technical delivery team, you will develop assigned solution components, test and document changes, investigate technical issues, and support the reliable operation and continuous improvement of established systems. The work may include databases, data pipelines, reporting solutions, Power Apps, Power Automate flows, application code, APIs, scheduled processes, and system integrations.
Your primary focus will be hands-on technical delivery and the production of reliable, accurate, and maintainable solutions.
Your key responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, test, document, and improve assigned components of data platforms, databases, applications, codebases, integrations, analytics products, and business-process automations
- Work from defined functional, operational, and technical requirements to complete development and support tasks
- Develop and maintain Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and related integrations
- Develop and enhance dashboards, reports, data models, and analytics products using Power BI, Tableau, or comparable technologies
- Write, test, and maintain SQL queries, scripts, stored procedures, data transformations, and other database components
- Support data extraction, ingestion, transformation, loading, validation, and integration processes
- Assist with the development and maintenance of data pipelines, scheduled jobs, automated processes, and application integrations
- Maintain and enhance existing applications, scripts, APIs, workflows, and reusable code components
- Connect databases, applications, cloud services, Microsoft 365 technologies, and external systems using approved integration methods
- Perform data validation and investigate data-quality issues, incomplete records, unexpected results, and processing failures
- Apply established development, testing, documentation, release, security, and change-management practices
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate technical feedback from Senior and Manager professionals
- Execute test cases, document results, and confirm that assigned changes meet defined requirements and acceptance criteria
- Troubleshoot defined defects, failed jobs, data issues, application problems, integration failures, and automation errors
- Assist with root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions under the guidance of more experienced team members
- Support application releases, platform changes, data migrations, software upgrades, and modernization activities
- Identify and communicate defects, risks, dependencies, recurring issues, and blockers that may affect assigned work
- Contribute ideas for reducing manual effort, improving existing workflows, increasing reliability, and creating reusable delivery components
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including data flows, configuration details, operating procedures, test evidence, release notes, and known-issue guidance
- Participate in internal, engagement-team, and client discussions to clarify requirements, review progress, demonstrate completed work, and understand operational issues
- Collaborate with developers, data engineers, analysts, platform specialists, and other engagement professionals
- Support compliance with applicable security, privacy, accessibility, data-governance, and client-specific delivery requirements
- Complete engagement-specific responsibilities in accordance with established scope, quality, schedule, service, security, and client requirements
Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role, you must have
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher
- Must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of related professional experience
- Must be comfortable working in-person as needed
- Relevant experience developing, maintaining, enhancing, or supporting data, application, analytics, or automation solutions through professional work, internships, academic projects, or comparable technical experience
- Experience with SQL and foundational relational-database concepts, including queries, tables, data structures, and data quality
- Coding or scripting experience using Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, R, or a comparable language
- Familiarity with data extraction, transformation, loading, ingestion, integration, and validation processes
- Experience with or exposure to Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps and Power Automate
- Experience with or exposure to Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or a comparable business-intelligence and data-visualization platform
- Familiarity with applications, scripts, workflows, codebases, data pipelines, integrations, or scheduled processes
- Familiarity with source control, testing, technical documentation, release practices, and structured issue tracking
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility and ability to work effectively with nationally distributed teams
- Ability to prioritize assignments, meet deadlines, follow up on open issues, and communicate risks or blockers
- Excellent English-language skills, both written and verbal
Consistent with EY’s collaborative working model, the role is expected to include 60% in-person engagement in support of effective teaming and delivery, subject to client and business requirements.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience working with Microsoft Dataverse, SharePoint, Power Pages, Power BI semantic models, or related Microsoft 365 and Power Platform technologies
- Familiarity with cloud data technologies or platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Databricks, Snowflake, or comparable technologies
- Familiarity with API development, system integration, scheduled processing, middleware, or event-driven solutions
- Experience supporting applications, databases, data platforms, analytics environments, or automated business processes
- Familiarity with data migration, platform modernization, application enhancement, or cloud transformation
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, alerting, operational metrics, or service-quality measures
- Awareness of data governance, metadata, lineage, access controls, retention, privacy, and secure data-handling practices
- Experience developing solutions for government clients or within environments that require formal security, documentation, change-control, and approval processes
- Relevant Microsoft, Power Platform, cloud, data, agile delivery, or software-development certifications

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $46,700 to $95,200. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $56,000 to $108,100. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
