EY DnA is the data and advanced analytics capability within EY Asia-Pacific, with over 500 specialist employees working across multiple industry sectors.

We implement information-driven strategies, data platforms and advanced data analytics solution systems that help grow, optimize and protect client organizations. We go beyond strategy and provide end to end design, build and implementation of real life data environments and have some of the best architects, project managers, business analysts, data scientists, big data engineers, developers and consultants in the region.

We are looking for a SAS Data Engineer to join our Consulting practice, supporting clients across data transformation, regulatory, and analytics initiatives.

In this role, you will work in a client-facing environment, delivering end-to-end data solutions using SAS and modern data platforms. You will be expected to combine strong technical capabilities with structured problem solving, stakeholder engagement, and delivery discipline.

 

 Your key responsibilities

 

  • Deliver end-to-end data engineering solutions using SAS across client engagements
  • Design and develop ETL pipelines and data workflows using Base SAS, SAS DI Studio, or SAS Viya
  • Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate into scalable data solutions
  • Perform data transformation, validation, and reconciliation to ensure high data quality
  • Optimize SAS programs for performance and efficiency in enterprise environments
  • Support integration with data warehouses, cloud platforms, and downstream analytics tools
  • Participate in client workshops, discussions, and presentations where required
  • Contribute to project delivery timelines, documentation, and governance standards
  • Develop and implement techniques and analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualisation software.
  • Apply data mining, data modelling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyse information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Visualise, interpret, and report data findings and may create dynamic data reports as well.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data architects, analysts, and client teams

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

Associates (1-2 years)

  • Foundational experience in SAS (Base SAS, Macros, SQL)
  • Understanding of ETL concepts and data lifecycle
  • Exposure to relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata)
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills with ability to work in a team-based, client environment

Senior Associate (3–6 years)

  • Proven experience delivering data engineering solutions using SAS in enterprise environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAS DI Studio / SAS Viya / SAS Grid
  • Proficiency in complex SQL, performance tuning, and large-scale data processing
  • Experience working in client-facing roles or consulting engagements
  • Ability to manage workstreams, prioritize deliverables, and communicate with stakeholders
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or modern data tools (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) is advantageous

 

To qualify for the role you must have

 

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with Consulting/Professional Services industry

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving client requirements
  • Focus on delivery quality, timelines, and outcomes
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work across business and technical teams
