Job Summary:
As an alumni relations associate director within the MENA Business Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility team, you will work to develop, coordinate, and implement programs for our firm alumni with alignment to our geographic region structure. In so doing, you will help strategically position the Firm’s distinctive brand.
In this role, you will provide leadership in developing and executing the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of alumni relations initiatives beyond your region focus that align with the firm’s strategy. Working closely with the region Talent, Markets, SLs and BMC teams you will play a crucial role in developing and helping meet our alumni relations objectives, focusing on these critical relationships and achieving positive impact across the firm’s brand, its talent-related priorities, and its relationships in the market. You will also drive engagements with alumni across region locations, industry sectors, and Service lines . Additionally, you will develop tactical plans to support go-to-market strategies. Your work will aim to increase alumni engagement, enhance our alumni-related data, improve brand recognition, and grow strategic alumni relationships, including those alumni who work at our highest priority clients. You will be responsible for elevating the internal focus and prioritization of alumni relationship management. To achieve this, you will utilize communications resources, including digital and social media platforms, events, our alumni councils, and other enablers.
Your key responsibilities
- Develop strategic and tactical plans for driving alumni relations strategy. This should consider brand, culture, people, recruiting, external relationships, and business development, among other items
- Manages the implementation and administration of alumni relations programs/activities through the effective use of communications and events that lead to brand recognition and the development of external relationships
- Builds processes to enhance alumni communication and engagement between account/market segment teams and relevant alumni
- Works with Alumni Managers and other team members to disseminate information and leading practices around market integration
- Work closely with the region Talent, Markets, BMC teams and Office Managing Partners in supporting local outreach and engagement with EY alumni
- Identifies opportunities to strengthen brand awareness and market presence through partnerships, engagement opportunities, targeted communications, firm-hosted events, networks and community/civic relationships with alumni
- Manages, tracks and monitors alumni expenditures for strategic initiative to operate within approved guidelines and monitors return on investment
- manage and execute the design, implementation and administration of alumni relations programs/activities through the effective use of communications and events that enable brand recognition and the development and strengthening of external relationships
- Oversee local alumni council strategy and implementation, including content and membership pipeline
- Manage, maintain, and improve alumni data quality, through various alumni engagement opportunities
- Some travel may be required pending business needs
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional project management skills
- Strong executive presence and interpersonal skills to effectively influence and interact with C-level executives (both internal firm and external executives) and business leaders and their teams
- Effective management skills to drive multiple deadline driven projects
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including networking skills with people at all levels internally and externally
- Proven talent at building relationships and influencing without authority to produce results and outcomes
- Possesses the experience and skills to handle complex, high-risk items with minimal oversight
- Competent at judging when to consult or raise potential challenges to the next level of supervision
- Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite; and confident learning other programs and technology tools to execute in this role
- A strategic, conceptual, and lateral thinker with the ability to execute strategy effectively; strong team player who is committed to working collaboratively, virtually and independently
- Efficient time management and prioritization skills are essential and extended hours are often required
- A minimum of 8+ years of marketing and communications or business development experience, and/or alumni relations experience preferred
- A Bachelor’s degree preferably, but not exclusively, with a concentration in marketing or communications, or equivalent work experience
- Master’s degree is a plus
