The opportunity
EY’s Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) practice provides risk management support to banks, insurers, asset managers as well as Financial Services regulators. Our team includes individuals who have industry, client, and product knowledge as well as quantitative, regulatory, project management and technology professionals. We are seeking agile individuals to join our team. Along with our team, you'll work together to coordinate the delivery of risk management, regulatory and business performance services to a variety of clients.
EY Rapid Innovation
As a Multinational Member Firm in the EY network, Rapid Innovation, based in Pakistan, exclusively provides its services to MENA based EY Member Firms across the MENA region, excluding Pakistan. The work is executed remotely by working virtually with our MENA onshore teams and sometime may require travel to MENA EY offices.
Your key responsibilities
As part of the FSRM team, your primary responsibilities, among other things, will include delivering services in wholesale and retail credit risk, risk management and governance, internal audit, current state assessment and benchmarking activities while establishing relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels. You will be applying both qualitative and quantitative techniques to help institutions achieve their risk management objectives as per defined scope of each project. You’ll need to consistently deliver quality client services by working as part of team, leading workstreams, monitoring progress, managing risks, and ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.

- Ability to analyse data and processes to identify risks and control weaknesses.
- Ability to perform management interviews and process walkthroughs, understand processes and concepts quickly and present them in a simplified manner while capturing key points.
- Ability to identify, assess, and prioritize risks.
- Ability to think critically and objectively.
- Capacity to challenge existing practices and recommend improvements.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of project deliverables (e.g. assessments and reports).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for client interactions and drafting reports (English mandatory, Arabic preferred).
- High level of professional ethics and integrity as defined by industry leading practices such as standards set by Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
- Ability to prioritize tasks to manage competing tasks enabling a high level of performance to meet deadlines for client deliverables across multiple projects.
- Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment and working in different environment and locations such as EY offices or client premises.
- Willingness to continuously learn and stay updated with industry trends.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- A Bachelor’s degree with a background in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of banking products and services and/or investment products and the key risks associated with these.
- Knowledge of Risk Management and Internal Audit practices. Prior experience of working in one or more of the following areas required:
- Operational Risk Management - Conducting Risk and Control Self-Assessments and performing control testing/monitoring.
- Internal Audit execution in banks, financing companies or asset management/fund management companies.
- Willingness to travel as the job will require part-time travel outside base location.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Relevant professional qualifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferred but not mandatory.
