The opportunity

You will be responsible for triaging, analyzing, and escalating Java full-stack and API-related incidents based on predefined SOPs and runbooks. Your primary focus will be on incident support, request fulfillment, and issue coordination, ensuring that application and API issues are efficiently managed and routed to the appropriate teams. This role ensures smooth operational support within the scope of the team

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Act as a primary responder for Java full-stack and API-related incidents, ensuring accurate categorization and resolution following SOPs.
  • Analyse and triage API and backend service issues, identifying impact and escalating unresolved cases to the appropriate product teams.
  • Execute predefined SOPs and runbooks to provide initial troubleshooting for Java Spring Boot microservices and API-related issues.
  • Reassign tickets in ITSM tools to the correct product teams based on predefined escalation procedures.
  • Validate API request and response structures, HTTP status codes, and authentication flows to confirm issue categorization.
  • Assist with API request fulfilment such as access provisioning, key rotation, and basic configuration requests.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and updates to runbooks to enhance team efficiency.
  • Collaborate with product teams to improve knowledge transfer and issue resolution processes.
  • Participate in shift handovers and governance meetings to provide updates on ongoing incidents and request fulfilment tasks.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong knowledge of Java Full Stack Development with a focus on Spring Boot and REST APIs.
  • Experience with API request handling, response validation, and authentication mechanisms such as OAuth2, JWT, and API Keys.
  • Familiarity with API gateways including AWS API Gateway, NGINX, Kong, or Apigee.
  • Proficiency in working with ITSM tools ITSM tools for ticket management and escalation.
  • Basic understanding of API security compliance and integration best practices.
  • Ability to execute SOPs and troubleshoot common application and API-related issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for assessing and categorizing incidents effectively.
  • Excellent documentation skills to maintain and update SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge bases.

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 4-7 years of experience in Java Full Stack, API support, or application operations.
  • Proficiency in Java Spring Boot with hands-on experience in REST API troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with ticketing systems like ServiceNow for incident handling and request fulfillment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment with strict SLAs and ticket resolution timelines.
  • Willingness to work in a 24x7 rotational shift model to provide continuous support

  • Cloud Infrastructure Awareness – AWS (IAM, EC2, S3)
  • Certification: Any Java certification . Any Cloud platform certification
  • Basic Database Knowledge – PostgreSQL, RDS
  • CI/CD Awareness – ArgoCD, Harness.io
  • Basic Messaging Knowledge – Kafka (for API-related troubleshooting)
