Job Title: PLM Techno functional consultant- Senior- Auto, Discrete & CPG Industry (Dassault 3DX/ Centric PLM, Siemens Teamcenter)

 

Experience Required: 4 – 8 years

 

Role Summary

A Techno-Functional PLM Consultant bridges business and IT by translating product lifecycle processes into configured, integrated, and reliable PLM solutions. The role combines strong functional understanding of product development, compliance, and supplier collaboration with hands-on system configuration, integrations, testing, documentation, and support to ensure that PLM effectively enables business operations and digital transformation.

The consultant should have strong experience in the Automotive, Discrete Manufacturing, and CPG industries, along with deep expertise in PLM platforms. The role requires ownership of E2E solution delivery, from requirements and design through configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and steady-state support.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements into functional designs and system configurations that support product development, compliance, and operational processes.
  • Lead structured requirements gathering, stakeholder workshops, and as-is / to-be process mapping activities.
  • Design and configure core PLM processes including EBOM, MBOM, SBOM, Change Management (ECR/ECO/ECN), and Variant and Configuration Management.
  • Manage and govern formulas, ingredients, recipes, and specifications within PLM for regulated and CPG-style product models.
  • Manage packaging development, labeling workflows, and artwork approvals across regions and product variants.
  • Implement Supplier Management, supplier onboarding, and part qualification workflows to support sourcing and compliance needs.
  • Define and govern data models, attributes, classifications, naming standards, and lifecycle states.
  • Lead data migration, cleansing, reconciliation, and validation activities to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Enable analytics and AI readiness by preparing, validating, and structuring PLM data for reporting and advanced analytics.
  • Support regulatory and quality compliance requirements such as REACH, RoHS, ISO, and other applicable standards.
  • Lead UAT planning and execution, release coordination, user training, and adoption activities.
  • Maintain functional and technical documentation, SOPs, configuration records, and access control structures.
  • Configure workflows, lifecycles, business rules, validations, and user interfaces within the PLM platform.
  • Develop custom services, scripts, and automation to extend and optimize system functionality.
  • Manage environments, system performance, security controls, and upgrades across development, test, and production landscapes.
  • Support releases, monitoring, incident management, and Application Management Services (AMS) during steady-state operations.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong experience working in Automotive, Discrete Manufacturing, and CPG industries.
  • Experience delivering PLM programs using platforms either of Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE, Centric PLM, Siemens Teamcenter
  • Strong expertise in core PLM lifecycle processes including BOM management, Change Management, Configuration and Variants, Specifications, and Supplier Management.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into functional designs and system configurations through structured analysis and process modeling.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and extending PLM solutions including workflows, rules, user interfaces, automation, and integrations.
  • Strong data governance capability including data modeling, migration, validation, traceability, and quality management.
  • Experience enabling enterprise integrations and the digital thread between PLM, ERP, manufacturing, and analytics platforms.
  • Proven experience leading testing, release, and adoption activities to ensure stable deployment and business uptake.
  • Strong understanding of operations including environment management, access and security controls, incident management, and AMS support.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across business and technical teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on global or multi-region PLM implementations.
  • Exposure to analytics, reporting, or AI initiatives using PLM data.
  • Knowledge of Agile, Hybrid, or scaled delivery methodologies.
  • PLM platform certifications are a plus.

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Information Technology.
