Full Stack Developer (Legacy) - Manager

 

 

The opportunity

 

As our Full Stack Developer you will lead the design, development, and delivery of multiple enterprise-grade web applications across diverse platforms. This role combines technical leadership, hands-on development, and stakeholder engagement, with responsibility for ensuring high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions.

 

You will work across a modern hybrid ecosystem spanning Onprem, Azure, AWS with Python & C++/C# backends, and Python, Java and React-based frontends, while managing delivery, releases, and ongoing support.

 

This is a hybrid position based in Boorloo – Perth. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

Technical Leadership & Delivery

 

  • Act as technical lead across multiple products, ensuring code quality, consistency, and best practices
  • Own release management, deployment strategies, and environment governance
  • Lead support triage, prioritisation, and ticket management
  • Provide onshore delivery leadership, coordinating with offshore teams where applicable
  • Drive continuous improvement in development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices

 

Solution Design & Architecture

 

  • Work closely with stakeholders to define and refine solution architectures
  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performing systems across cloud-native environments
  • Provide guidance on microservices, API design, and integration patterns
  • Contribute to technical roadmaps and future platform evolution

 

Backend Development

 

  • Develop and maintain APIs and services using:
    • Python (Flask, Fast API, WSGI)
    • C++, C#
  • Design and manage data layers using:
    • PostgreSQL
    • Azure SQL
    • Cosmos DB
  • Build resilient, event-driven systems using:
    • Message Queues (RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ, Azure Service Bus)
    • Azure Functions & Logic Apps
    • .Net, C# based integrations.

 

Frontend Development

 

  • Develop modern web applications using:
    • React with TypeScript
    • Python (Django)
    • JavaScript ( Bootstrap, Datatables, D3.js, DC.js, Leaflet, Vuex, jQuery, Select2)
  • Work with:
    • D3 (data visualisation)
    • Legacy front-end stacks (jQuery, Bootstrap) where required
  • Ensure responsive design and mobile-friendly experiences
  • Implement testing using:
    • Jest, Playwright

 

Cloud & DevOps

 

  • Work extensively with Microsoft Azure, including:
    • App Services & Static Web Apps
    • Azure Functions
    • App Insights
    • Key Vault
  • Manage infrastructure and deployments using:
    • Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
    • Docker & containerised deployments
    • Kubernetes (AKS)
    • Linux based deployments using Ansible, Jenkins and Puppet

 

Integrations & Specialised Areas

 

  • Integrate with enterprise systems such as:
    • SAP (user/profile data)
    • GIS platforms (ArcGIS)
  • Work with advanced visualisation technologies:
    • 3D engines (e.g., Unigine)
    • Processing engineering data formats (e.g., .dxf files)

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

Core Technical Skills

 

  • Strong full-stack development experience across:
    • Python (Flask/Django) and/or C# .NET
    • React with TypeScript
  • Strong API design and development experience
  • Expertise with relational and NoSQL databases:
    • PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB
  • Solid experience with Azure cloud ecosystem

 

DevOps & Infrastructure

 

  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Azure DevOps (CI/CD)
    • Docker and Kubernetes
    • NGINX
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (App Insights)

 

Leadership & Delivery

 

  • Proven experience as a technical lead or delivery lead
  • Experience managing support processes, triage, and prioritisation
  • Strong stakeholder communication and engagement skills
  • Ability to operate across architecture, design, and execution levels

 

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

 

  • Experience with:
    • Vite, TanStack, Zustand
    • GIS/ArcGIS integrations
    • 3D visualisation tools (e.g., Unigine)
  • Mining Experience
  • Experience working in multi-product or platform environments.
