We are looking for experienced Consultants and Senior Consultants to join Perth’s leading tax practice in our Private Tax team.

 

It’s an exciting time to join our high performing and rapidly growing team. The role will deliver great opportunities for you to work across a range of privately owned clients including entrepreneurial start-ups, established private businesses and high-net worth individuals and family groups to help shape and enhance business strategies and solve tomorrow’s tax problems today. In this role, you will work across multiple projects and clients, both autonomously and as valued member of our team, collaborating with our global tax network. Your key responsibilities

 

As an experienced Consultant or Senior Consultant, you will be central to delivering pragmatic solutions to help our clients solve complex income tax challenges and efficiently manage their tax compliance responsibilities. As a Consultant or Senior Consultant in the Private Tax team you will:

  • Provide financial reporting and tax compliance services for our clients
  • Assist with providing tax advice to privately owned corporate groups, high-wealth high-net wealth individuals and private groups, trusts, and other privately owned entities
  • Assist our clients to strengthen their tax governance and to facilitate and manage dealings with the ATO
  • Work across multiple engagements and clients including entrepreneurial start-ups, established private businesses and high-net worth individuals and family group

 

What we’re looking for

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting
  • CA qualification (or on the path to completing CA or an equivalent professional qualification)
  • Experience in providing tax advisory and tax compliance services to corporate entities (including tax consolidated groups and tax effect accounting), privately owned corporate groups, high-wealth high-net worth individuals and private family groups
  • Sound knowledge of Australian income tax law including the taxation of trusts (e.g., Division 6, Division 6E and section 100A) and Division 7A
  • Excellent understanding of accounting concepts and experience in preparing financial statements for a variety of entities including trusts and companies
  • Demonstrated ability to research and interpret taxation legislation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound project management skills, and the ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to delegate to, coach and mentor junior team members
  • The ability to work autonomously, within a team and with our clients
  • Eagerness to learn, develop new skills and to keep up to date with changes in taxation law
  • Knowledge of self-managed superannuation fund (SMSF) regulation and compliance would be highly regarded (but is not essential)
