The Opportunity


Our Risk team provides comprehensive risk services that help companies around the world evaluate and enhance their risk management and internal audit functions. Professionals in this role will work within the Ottawa Business Consulting – Enterprise Risk group to deliver enterprise risk services to clients in a variety of sectors including the Government and Public Sector. Join our team as an Enterprise Risk Staff or Senior Consultant. 


Your key responsibilities


As an Enterprise Risk professional, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive risk services through a suite of strategic, outsourcing, and industry-focused operational recommendations that help companies around the world evaluate and enhance their internal audit and risk management functions. We plan, lead and perform internal audit, SarbanesOxley (SOX) and risk advisory projects in accordance with the client's risk management strategy, resulting in the identification of control enhancements, operational and compliance process improvements and efficiency opportunities as well as company-wide cost improvements.


You will also be responsible for establishing relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels. Consistently delivering quality client services, monitoring progress, managing risks and ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes while staying abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client’s business

We are hiring into our Enterprise Risk group in the following roles:


Staff Consultant: As a staff consultant, you will work on a diverse and talented team that will help you learn and challenge you to grow. You will be responsible for specific components of a project, such as attending meetings with senior consultants and managers, taking notes, reviewing documentation, performing analysis, documenting processes, evaluating the effectiveness of controls and participating in client discussions with guidance from seniors.

Senior Consultant: As a senior consultant, you will begin to develop specialized knowledge, manage larger and more complex components of our projects, and will have greater responsibility for engagement delivery and execution. You will also be responsible to lead meetings, perform review of work completed by staff consultants, develop, and coach staff consultants and address their queries.


Skills and Attributes for Success


To qualify for this role, you must have

  • Ability to obtain secret level Government security clearance
  • Staff: Between 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Senior: Between 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • An Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, STEM or other related fields of study
  • Possess relevant designations e.g. CPA, CIA, or have demonstrated interest in pursuing and completing the required examinations
  • Demonstrated competence in Enterprise Risk, Internal Audit and Internal Controls encompassing one or more of the following: ERM, Third-Party Risk, ICFR, SOX
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • The ability to speak in both French and English  
  • Professional services firm experience
  • Experience in Public Sector and/or Financial Services industry is an asset
