Finance Associate

Are you ready to shape the future with confidence?
Will you shape the future, or will the future shape you? How will we work better together to build a better working world?
At EY, you'll have the opportunity to build a truly exceptional experience. We empower you with the latest technology, surround you with high-performing teams, and provide the global scale and diverse, inclusive culture you need to discover your full potential. Through our coaching and training programs, you'll develop the skills necessary to stay relevant today and in the future — all while building a network of colleagues, mentors, and leaders who will be on this journey with you at EY and beyond.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Associate to join our Core Business Services – Finance team in Aruba. In this role you will support the day-to-day financial administration of our firm, from invoicing and payments to reporting and analysis. You will work closely with colleagues across Aruba, Curaçao and Suriname, gaining broad exposure to the finance operations of a leading professional services organization while building a strong foundation for your career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the daily financial administration, including processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time.
- Prepare and issue client invoices in line with engagement agreements, and follow up on outstanding balances in coordination with engagement teams.
- Perform bank, supplier and intercompany reconciliations, investigating and resolving differences.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals and supporting schedules.
- Maintain accurate records in the financial systems, ensuring completeness, correctness and proper documentation.
- Support the preparation of internal financial reports, budgets and forecasts for local leadership.
- Assist with the processing of employee expense claims and credit card reconciliations in line with firm policy.
- Support compliance with local tax and statutory filing requirements, preparing underlying documentation as needed.
- Provide support during internal and external audits by gathering and preparing requested documentation.
- Contribute to the improvement and standardization of finance processes, controls and tools across the Dutch Caribbean.
What We Look For:
- You have an agile, growth-oriented mindset. While your knowledge is important, the right mindset is crucial for success. We seek innovative individuals who can adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
- You are curious and purpose-driven. We value individuals who see opportunities instead of challenges and ask insightful questions to uncover better answers.
- You are inclusive. We appreciate team members who embrace diverse perspectives, value differences, and foster an environment of safety and trust.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Zero to three years of relevant experience in finance or accounting; starters with a strong interest in finance are encouraged to apply.
- Good working knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting or ERP systems is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English, Dutch and Papiamento; Spanish is a plus.
- High level of discretion and integrity when handling confidential financial information.
- Well-organized and able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
What's In It For You:
- Accelerate your technical capabilities and transformative leadership skills with future-focused courses and development programs.
- Broaden your horizons by working on highly integrated teams across the globe and collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds, both professionally and culturally.
- Bring out the best in yourself with continuous investment in your personal well-being and career development.
- Develop your own personal purpose and help us create a positive ripple effect on our teams, our business, clients, and society.
