EY GDS - Delivery Excellence Senior position

The opportunity

 

The Manager – Workday Payroll, Compensation & Benefits will lead the AMS support function for critical workforce reward and pay-related processes within the Workday environment. This role is responsible for overseeing production support, service delivery, functional governance, issue prioritization, stakeholder engagement, team management, and continuous improvement initiatives across Payroll, Compensation, and Benefits. The ideal candidate will combine deep functional expertise in Workday support operations with strong people leadership, service delivery discipline, and the ability to manage complex support landscapes in a controlled and compliant environment.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Lead end-to-end AMS delivery for Workday Payroll, Compensation, and Benefits, ensuring SLA/KPI adherence
  • Manage support operations including ticket prioritization, escalations, and service governance
  • Provide functional oversight on payroll processing, compensation cycles, and benefits administration
  • Drive resolution of complex issues (pay calculations, retro, deductions, eligibility, variances)
  • Lead and mentor AMS team, ensuring quality delivery and continuous capability development
  • Manage stakeholders and governance through reporting, reviews, and prioritization forums
  •  Oversee enhancements, releases, and ensure compliance with audit, controls, and security standards

To qualify for the role, you must have

8+ years of Workday HCM experience, with strong expertise in Payroll, Compensation, and/or Benefits.

Proven experience managing AMS support or post-production support teams for Workday or similar HCM platforms.

 

Deep understanding of:

  • Payroll operations and issue management
  • Compensation processes and annual cycle support
  • Benefits administration and eligibility
  • Cross-functional dependencies with Core HCM, Absence, Time Tracking, Finance, and integrations
  • Strong experience with incident management, service governance, prioritization, and stakeholder communication.
  • Experience managing enhancements, release cycles, testing activities, and production change controls.
  • Strong people leadership, mentoring, and team coordination capabilities.
  • Workday certification in Payroll, Compensation, and/or Benefits

 

Additionally, good to have

  • Experience supporting large enterprise or shared services environments.
  • Knowledge of payroll controls, audit readiness, SOX considerations, and segregation of duties.
  • Experience with Workday reporting, calculated fields, and downstream integration support.
  • Familiarity with ticketing tools, SLA reporting, and AMS governance frameworks.
