The opportunity
- Distributed Middleware Services provides centralized Middleware and IBM MQ Infrastructure support for complex business applications
- 5+ years’ experience in supporting real time production environments.
- Extensive debugging skills and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with Middleware technologies like IBM MQ, WebSphere, Tomcat, Liberty & Kafka.
- General knowledge of industry principles and familiarity with modern technologies like Amazon cloud, Unix/Linux, virtualization, etc. is good to have but not a requirement.
- Familiar with monitoring and ticketing tools like SNOW, SPLUNK etc.
- Certifications in any one of middleware areas will be a plus.
Your key responsibilities
- Provide support to the various middleware technologies managed by the team with primary focus on Tomcat, WebSphere Business Process Manager and WebSphere Application Server, IBM MQ, Liberty & Kafka.
- Will be responsible for Identify and implement efficiencies and improvements to standard processes and procedures such as automation through scripting, programming, etc.
- Ability to work as a team, and independently as well with minimal supervision.
- Mitigate risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.
- Support 24/7 shift coverage for BAU production support. Ready to work in Shift and flexible to work on weekends.
Skills and attributes for success
- Experience in Tomcat, WebSphere Application Server, Liberty, Kafka, IBM BPM, IBM MQ Administration in Linux Environment
- Installation, Configuration Tomcat, WebSphere Application Server, Liberty, Kafka, IBM BPM, IBM MQ , Tomcat application servers
- Support and Troubleshooting Tomcat, WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Portal, IBM BPM, IBM MQ, Tomcat application servers
- Troubleshooting issues related to access management solutions like IBM HIPAM etc.
- Load Balancing, High Availability, and Disaster recovery plans and configurations.
- Environment Integrations with other interfaces and 3rd party applications
- Experience in providing support and good troubleshooting experience.
- Knowledge of Tomcat, WebSphere security, access and roles setup and configuration
- Support any New application deployed in all Dev, QA, PSE and PROD environments
- Use of monitoring tools and other 3rd party tools to maintain system health and uptime.
- Expert knowledge of incident, problem and change management (ITIL) processes and ITSM tools.
- Performance analysis, tuning, and optimization.
- Install/Update/coordinate patches for Security vulnerabilities and bug fixes for WAS/IHS/tomcat
- Open cases and knowledge of working with vendors.
- Support 24/7 shift coverage for BAU production support.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Service management knowledge as per ITIL.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience in supporting Distributed Middleware Services provides centralized Middleware and IBM MQ Infrastructure support for complex business applications
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Certification:
- ITIL 4 certification (Good to have)
