Business Modeling - Assistant Director, Strategy and Transactions
As part of our EY-Modeling team, you will help clients model their business plans for multiple purposes – M&A, project finance, FP&A, for better understanding of business, its KPIs and decision making. The job offers opportunities around a broad scope of engagements, mentoring, and learning & development.
Key responsibilities
- Manage multiple client engagement teams, understanding clients’ needs, and lead the delivery of all engagements within the assigned business.
- Manage teams in developing models to study various business situations, using appropriate modeling for M&A, project finance, FP&A or operational business plan for reporting.
- Lead teams in developing models to build /review variety of financial models apart from using techniques like advanced statistics, AI/ML algorithms and advanced data modelling to build decision support tools
- Ideate new solutions/services to address changing client needs across markets basis different global themes.
- Achieve business growth by developing and maintaining strong working relationships with EY offices across the globe, demonstrating knowledge of regional practices business and developing open communication channels.
- Identifying new services within business and working with partners and senior managers on learning
- and piloting activities from GDS
- Developing and guiding staff and other junior professionals by providing effective performance feedback/training, and ensuring team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals.
- Stimulate yourself to continually learn and teach, mentoring others while developing your own career
- Take ownership of your projects, while working collaboratively with other team members
- Maintain and develop positive, productive, and professional relationships with clients and winning repeat business
Skills and attributes for success
- Experience in Modeling complex problem statements, building flexible and scalable business models to deal with varied problem statements.
- Excellent analytical, project-management, communication, interpersonal, and teaming skills
- Experience in building tools/solutions to analyse data using technologies like R/Python, MS Azure and leveraging advanced statistics, AI/ML algorithms and related applications in the data modelling is preferred.
- Knowledge of analytical tools/technologies such as Alteryx, Power BI, VBA, Python etc
- Experience in leveraging appropriate valuation and modeling techniques in a corporate finance role or in venture capital, investment banking, commercial banking.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in any of the following sectors will be added advantage –
- Energy & Industrials, TMT, Consumer & Health, PE
- The ability to work within a given budget and schedule, providing top-quality results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
To qualify for the role, you must have
- An advanced degree (masters or Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline, with demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience in a corporate finance role in M&A, Modeling in big 4s, investment banking, private equity/venture capital.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience leading team of 30+ professionals
- Proficiency in tools like Alteryx, Power BI, VBA, Python etc
- Experience in leading business conversations with global executives
