Associate Director – Deal Management

The opportunity

Transaction Strategy and Execution works on the most complex and high-profile national and global transactions, across a broad portfolio of clients and industry sectors. We are a group of experienced industry professionals with a background in operations who are serial transaction advisers, which enables us to bring a wealth of deep sector and functional knowledge to our clients. As a team, we prepare and execute separation and integration plans, identify ideas and sources of value enhancement, as well as advise on risk mitigation and the successful change of operations, functions and people

Your key responsibilities

As an Associate Director in Transaction Strategy and Execution, you will be a vital member of the team managing and executing projects focused on transaction strategy and transaction execution. Your role will also involve developing experience across the M&A lifecycle including pre-sign, sign-to-close and post-closing. We value both experiences across the merger lifecycle, preferably within Advanced Manufacturing sector, for a candidate having a strong desire to help clients on a range of challenging transaction and transformational engagements, including Day 1/Day 100 planning, post-merger integration synergies and carve-outs / activations

Skills and attributes for success

  • Leading multi-functional large size M&A project teams (on-shore and within GDS) through agreed-upon phases of project governance, requirements definition, and risk analysis of a client’s M&A project life cycle
  • Leading business development activities (e.g. RFPs, points of view-based business development) and demonstrated ability to build and nurture client relationships
  • Identify opportunities across service lines and cross collaborate with other service lines for end-to-end delivery.
  • Collaborating with on-shore team members in developing applicable methodologies, tools, approaches, points of view, thought leadership and accelerators to differentiate EY in the marketplace
  • Developing long-term relationships and networks, both internally and externally; interacting and communicating effectively with teammates, clients, stakeholders and executives
  • Leadership – Engender high performing teaming into diverse project teams
  • Analytical capabilities – knowledge of how to synthesize large amounts of data, develop hypotheses, test those hypotheses and use them to facilitate conversations with client executives
  • Project Management – be part of project teams comprising colleagues from across the Strategy & Transactions sub service lines

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A proven record of excellence in a mergers or acquisitions transactions role with extensive experience of handling large transaction in Advance Manufacturing Sector
  • Five years or more experience in business development and client relationship management. This includes coordinating and leading RFP responses and/or proactive business development (linear and lateral extensions). Demonstrated ability to build client relationships
  • Strong verbal communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, exposure to tools like Power BI, Alteryx, working knowledge of VBA, Python will be plus
  • Experience presenting to client executives at VP and above level
  • Master’s degree and twelve or more years of related work experience, with at least 7 years in a management consulting company
