German Language Expert – Strategy and Transactions (SaT) – Senior Analyst

GDS Strategy and Transactions (SaT) has been one of fastest growing services, delivering Transaction support, Transaction tax and Capital transformation services, to clients around the world. You will work as extended team to global SaT practices, to deliver insights, analytics and advice to our clients that determines how they strategically raise, invest, preserve and optimize their capital.

The opportunity

We’re looking for Senior Analysts with expertise in German language who will provide core language and integrated engagement support to our clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm.

Your key responsibilities

• Leading engagements with 1-3 staff members and effectively managing engagement to closure
• Assisting in preparing reports and schedules in German or English language
• Analysing financial and operational results of targets through the preparation of various analysis by reviewing accounting records in German or English language.
• Developing excellent relationships with global clients at the appropriate level and ensure high degree of client satisfaction with engagement process and work products
• Demonstrate basic understanding of financial statements and any industry or sector.
• Be responsible for delivering highest quality on every task assigned in line with EY Global SaT methodology and the expectations of Global SaT teams.
• Execute & document specific due diligence procedures as defined by the engagement objectives and local team’s work step allocation
• Developing/maintaining productive working relationships with EY offices globally. Directing the progress of engagement work and informing supervisors of the engagement status.
• Managing own time to work on budgets and communicate progress against plan to supervisors
• Contributes to a positive team environment by demonstrating consistent commitment and optimism towards work challenges.
• Staying abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to the client's business
• Develop knowledge of use of EY technology and tools to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery.

Skills and attributes for success

• Basic understanding of financial and accounting knowledge.
• Good analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Strong drive to take new work initiative and ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas
• Strong communication (written & oral) and presentation skills in producing quality reports, papers, and presentations.
• Experience in executing and managing research and analysis of companies and markets and in the field of financial planning and analysis, research, and report writing is preferred

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Language capability: German (Level C1 or C2)
• Strong written and oral communication skills (German and English)
• 7-8 yrs. relevant work experience in German language and Financial Consulting or Accounting related role
• B. Com / M. Com / similar post-graduation course in finance from a reputed institute
• Basic understanding of financial and accounting knowledge.
• Detailed knowledge in MS Excel and Power Point
• Willingness to undertake international travel as per business requirement
• Any graduate with German language expertise can apply

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Project management skills
• Translation skills
• Experience in external audit working and/or mergers and acquisitions transactions experience or experience in the field of financial planning and analysis, and financial reporting is preferred
