GDS TAS Infrastructure Advisory

GDS IA team under the SaT umbrella provides assistance to EY member firms on Infrastructure Advisory engagements, which includes M&A Advisory, Capital & Debt Advisory, Infrastructure Advisory, and Transaction Real Estate services.

 

About the Infrastructure Advisory Team

The Infrastructure Advisory team focusses on engagement delivery and Business Development support across the Transport, Telecom, Health and Human Services and Power & Utilities sectors with a focus on advice on infrastructure service delivery. As a part of engagement delivery, the team undertakes the following set of activities:

  • Government side tender evaluation support including bidder financial capacity and capability analysis, ad hoc financial analysis, commercial support.
  • Financial modelling and analysis - building and reviewing long term project finance models  
  • Business Case Preparation support including Cost Benefit Analysis, assessment of delivery models, qualitative PPP vs non PPP analysis, social impact evaluation etc.
  • Policy development, including strategies for transport and land use planning.

Job description:

The EY GDS TAS Infrastructure Advisory team is seeking an experienced Infrastructure sector professional with exceptional economic or financial modelling skills to join our team. The individual will support engagements in the transport, health and human services and power and utilities sectors. A key part of the role will be to maintain strong communication with the practice offices and keep them informed of our evolving service offerings in order to drive growth, and willingness to understand the local policy and market environment of client offices they serve.

 

Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Be responsible for leading client interactions, maintaining an exceptional quality of deliverables, building relationships and support onshore practices in generating new business within the transport, health and human services (healthcare, urban development, education and tourism) and power & utilities
  • Take responsibility for driving improvements in the team’s understanding of requirements across key competency and sectors, and translate this into consistently high quality deliverables
  • Assist the practice offices with all forms of high quality deliverables such as:
  • Cost benefit analysis as part of feasibility studies/Business cases
  • Project Finance and economic model build
  • Project Finance model reviews and sensitivity analysis
  • VBA review and build
  • Perform detailed reviews of financial models, arrive at preliminary conclusions and present the findings in a report format to clients
  • Maintain strong communications with the clients in practice offices through email, teams, video conferences and any others forms of communication
  • Measure, monitor and improve client service by closely collaborating with the client and guiding team members and driving excellence in service delivery
  • Travel on assignments abroad, as required


Competencies / skills:

  • Exceptional economic and financial modelling skills with a demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Demonstrated experience of working in either transport, health and human services or power and utilities/ emobility sectors
  • A good working knowledge of accounting, financial statements, and financial analysis
  • Knowledge of PPP/PFI modelling is preferred
  • Exhibit strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Preferable exposure to VBA
  • Have strong knowledge of excel functions
  • Knowledge of Power Bi/Alteryx/ GIS is preferred
  • Possess good project and time management skills with the ability to multiple tasks in parallel


Job Specification:

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum degree of Chartered Accountancy or equivalent or Master's degree in economics, or finance or Business Administration with 7-10 years relevant experience working in Infrastructure sector (working in either transport, health and human services or power and utilities sectors)
  • Demonstrated experience of producing high quality financial modelling deliverables
