The Opportunity

As a SAP IS U ABAP Developer, you will be part of a high impact Utilities transformation program, working on complex SAP IS U and SAP Workflow–driven solutions across Electricity, Gas, or Water domains. You will contribute to end to end implementations, enhancements, and support activities, playing a key role in building scalable, event driven technical solutions for Meter to Cash processes using ABAP and SAP Workflow.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance ABAP solutions in SAP IS U integrated with SAP Workflow.
• Develop and support RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms).

Design and implement SAP Workflow solutions including:

• Workflow templates, tasks, containers, bindings, and conditions
• Event driven workflows using BOR / Class based objects
• Debugging workflows using SWI1, SWDD, SWEL

Work on IS U modules including:

• Device Management (DM)
• Billing & Invoicing
• Customer Service (CS)
• FI CA (Events, Dunning, Collections, Payments)
• Implement Enhancements, BADIs, User Exits, and FQ Events.
• Develop ALV reports (Classical, Interactive, OO ALV).
• Support Move In, Move Out, Disconnection, Reconnection, Meter Installation/Replacement processes through workflow enabled solutions.
• Develop and maintain SmartForms / Adobe Forms for billing and workflow triggered correspondence.
• Work with BAPIs, RFCs, IDOCs, and workflow event interfaces.
• Perform debugging, performance tuning, and root cause analysis of ABAP and workflow issues.
• Prepare Technical Design Documents (TDDs) and support Unit Testing, SIT, and UAT.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards and workflow best practices.

Skills and Attributes for Success

• Strong hands on experience in SAP ABAP with deep exposure to SAP IS U.

Strong working knowledge of SAP Workflow concepts, including:

• Workflow templates and tasks
• Workflow container and bindings
• Condition steps and decision logic
• Event linkage and triggering mechanisms
• Solid understanding of Meter to Cash utilities business processes.
• Expertise in Core ABAP (DDIC, Reports, ALV, Modularization, Debugger).
• Working knowledge of OO ABAP (Classes, Methods, Events).
• Experience with IS U Master Data (BMD, TMD).
• Strong analytical skills for translating functional and process requirements into workflow enabled technical solutions.
• Proven ability to debug and troubleshoot standard and custom workflows.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

• Experience designing complex, multi step SAP Workflows.
• Exposure to Event based processing in IS U / FI CA (e.g., FQ Events, workflow events).
• Experience with ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, and OData.
• Exposure to ECC to S/4HANA IS U migration or conversion projects.
• Utilities industry experience (Electricity, Gas, or Water).
• SAP certification in ABAP, SAP Workflow, or SAP IS U.
• Experience working in Agile / client facing delivery models.
