The Opportunity

 

We are seeking a motivated Junior SAP Group Reporting professional to support group consolidation and financial reporting activities within SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting. The role provides hands‑on exposure to legal consolidation, IFRS reporting, SAP configuration, and month‑end close processes under the guidance of senior consultants and managers.

 

This position is ideal for professionals early in their SAP consolidation career who want to develop strong functional and technical expertise in SAP Group Reporting.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Group Reporting & Consolidation Support

  • Support monthly, quarterly, half‑yearly, and annual group consolidation processes.
  • Assist in preparation and review of consolidated financial results in compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Support consolidation of actuals, budgets, and forecasts for group and subsidiary entities.
  • Assist in handling consolidation scope changes, including new entities, divestitures, or restructures.
  • Support purchase method and equity method consolidations under supervision.

 

SAP Group Reporting Configuration & Operations

  • Assist in configuration and maintenance of SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting objects such as:
    • Financial Statement (FS) items and hierarchies
    • Consolidation units and consolidation groups
    • Attributes, breakdown categories, sub‑items and sub‑item categories
  • Support balance carryforward and currency translation setups.
  • Assist in inter‑unit eliminations, reclassifications, and manual journal postings.
  • Run and monitor Data Monitor and Consolidation Monitor activities.
  • Support mapping of G/L accounts to financial statement items.

 

Integration & Systems Support

  • Assist senior consultants in integrating SAP Group Reporting with SAP FI/CO on S/4HANA.
  • Support system testing, data validation, and reconciliation during month‑end and year‑end close.
  • Participate in support or implementation projects involving SAP BPC, SEM‑BCS, EC‑CS, FI‑LC, or ECC.

 

Analysis & Reporting

  • Perform basic analysis of reported figures and support variance analysis.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audit and internal reporting.
  • Help identify data issues or inconsistencies and support resolution with reporting units.

 

Learning, Documentation & Team Support

  • Document functional specifications, process flows, and configuration settings.
  • Support knowledge transfer activities and participate in user training sessions.
  • Work closely with senior consultants and managers to gain functional and technical knowledge.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives within the Group Reporting framework.

 

 

Skills and Attributes for Success

 

Core Skills

 

  • Basic to intermediate understanding of group consolidation concepts.
  • Foundational knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP accounting principles.
  • Exposure to SAP consolidation tools such as SAP BPC, SEM‑BCS, EC‑CS, FI‑LC, or SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting.
  • Willingness to learn SAP Group Reporting configuration and consolidation processes.

 

Technical Skills

 

  • Basic hands‑on experience or strong theoretical knowledge of SAP FI/CO.
  • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA navigation and reporting concepts.
  • Experience supporting at least one consolidation or reporting cycle is preferred.

 

Behavioral Skills

 

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proactive learner with a problem‑solving attitude.

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • MBA (Finance), M.Com, or Chartered Accountant (CA – Inter / Qualified)
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in financial consolidation, reporting, or SAP Finance projects.

 

 

Nice to Have

 

  • Exposure to SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting (on‑premise or cloud).
  • Experience assisting in migration or transition from legacy consolidation tools to Group Reporting.
  • Prior experience in audit, group finance, or controllership roles.
