The Opportunity

 

We are seeking an SAP FI–GL Consultant with 12+ years of experience in SAP Finance implementations, including S/4HANA transformation projects. The candidate should possess strong functional expertise in General Ledger along with proven project management capabilities to lead end-to-end delivery, stakeholder management, and solution architecture

 

 

Your client responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the offshore team as the delivery lead for different phases of various ongoing SAP Implementation Projects and contribute effectively.
  • Interface and communicate with the onsite engagement lead and manage the delivery and report status to the leadership on a regular basis

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • CA/ICWA (ICMA)/MBA Finance in a reputed institution with a sound industry/domain experience and SAP relevant experience with 12 + years of experience

 

 

 Mandatory skills:

 

  • Experience should be in End-to-end Implementation, Rollout, Support, upgrade, enhancements in the below areas.
  • SAP Finance – FI- New General Ledger & Profit Center Accounting, FI-Accounts Payable, FI-Bank accounting and FI-Asset Accounting.
  • Exposure on SAP Simple Finance – GL Accounting, Asset Accounting and CO – Overhead Cost Controlling & Profitability Analysis.
  • SAP Finance – Taxation and Withholding Taxes.
  • SAP Finance – Closing activities, Validations and Substitutions & Reporting.
  • Controlling- CO-Cost element accounting CO-Cost Center Accounting and CO-Internal Orders.
  • FI integration with MM, SD, HR & PS.
  • Excellent business communication skills and Prior client facing consulting experience.

 

Project Management Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end SAP Finance implementation / rollout / migration projects
  • Plan and manage project scope, timelines, risks, and deliverables

 

Coordinate with: 

  • Business stakeholders
  • Technical teams (ABAP, integration)
  • Data migration and testing teams

 

Drive:

  • Requirement gathering workshops
  • Fit-gap analysis
  • Solution design and sign-offs
  • Ensure adherence to implementation methodologies (ASAP/Activate/Agile)
  • Manage project governance, reporting, and stakeholder communication
  • Oversee UAT, cutover, and hypercare activities

 

 

Preferred skills (not mandatory) 

 

  • Knowledge of SAP – BPC (Consolidation), Special purpose ledger, SOX, US GAAP, Various of Exits, Background on the Technical and Functional upgrade, Report painter, Report writer etc.
  • Experience on FIORI APPS, BODS, BW, HANA and other reporting tools.
  • SAP Finance/Controlling Certification is a plus

 

Stakeholder & Leadership Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business and leadership teams
  • Lead offshore/onshore teams and mentor junior consultants
  • Drive client-facing discussions and workshops
  • Ensure quality delivery and compliance with finance standards

 

 

Experience

 

12+ years of SAP FI experience with strong expertise in SAP GL/FI Application

Proven experience in:

  • SAP ECC and S/4HANA Finance implementations
  • End-to-end project lifecycle involvement (implementation, rollout, support)
  • Strong knowledge in:
  • Financial accounting processes and reporting
  • Data migration strategies for finance objects
  • Hands-on configuration experience in SAP GL/FI modules

 

 

Good to Have

 

  • SAP S/4HANA Finance certification
  • Exposure to finance compliance and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience in global or multi-country implementations
