About Global Delivery Services
Global Delivery Services refers to EY's worldwide network of service delivery centers. The GDS team plays an important role in EY’s strategy by ensuring effective support to EY’s growth agenda.
Our journey started in 2002 with approximately 200 people. Today we stand at 80,000+ professionals in ten locations around the world. We operate in Argentina, China, Hungary, India, Philippines, Poland, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Client service is focused on providing Consulting, Assurance, Tax, Strategy & Transactions, and Knowledge support to our clients around the world. The teams enable account teams worldwide to provide seamless, high-quality, value-added support, helping deliver exceptional client service.
Enablement Services provides cost-effective, high-skilled, and innovative services to support EY’s global and local enablement teams. Markets, BMC, AWS, Finance and Accounting, Risk Management, Procurement, People Shared Services, IT Service Delivery and IT Global Infrastructure services, are among the services offered by Enablement Services.
Our innovation specialists serve the GDS Client Service and Enablement Services teams, along with Service Lines, Core Business Services and Sectors. The team brings the desired environment, technologies and skilled teams together for facilitation, rapid prototyping and innovative thinking. The competencies offered include analytics, digital, user experience, mobile technology, infrastructure, Microsoft technologies and open innovation.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly experienced SAP ABAP Solution Architect to lead complex technical designs and ensure our SAP landscape aligns with modern architecture principles, including SAP Clean Core. You will define and govern technical standards, ensuring extensibility is achieved through side‑by‑side, upgrade‑safe approaches while guiding teams in adopting S/4HANA best practices. This role provides significant influence in shaping our digital transformation by creating scalable, maintainable, and future-ready SAP solutions.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Architect end‑to‑end SAP ABAP solutions compliant with Clean Core principles, minimizing technical debt and ensuring long-term maintainability.
- Define development standards and enforce upgrade-safe, cloud-compliant extension models, including in-app and side-by-side extensibility.
- Lead solution design across SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and hybrid landscapes with a focus on standardization and simplification.
- Own and drive RFP, RFI, and RFQ response solutioning, including technical scoping, solution architecture, effort estimation, delivery models, and presenting solutions to customers.
- Support pre-sales cycles by creating architecture decks, technical estimations, work breakdown structures, and risk assessments.
- Define and enforce development standards, design patterns, and code governance processes.
- Review and architect complex RICEFW developments, enhancements, BAdIs, user exits, workflows, interfaces, and OData services.
- Guide the adoption of S/4HANA technologies such as CDS Views, AMDP, RAP, BOPF, and Fiori/UI5 integration.
- Promote clean core-aligned extensibility using SAP BTP, CAP, RAP, and event-driven patterns.
- Collaborate with functional, business, and enterprise architecture teams to conceptualize optimal technical solutions.
- Lead architecture review boards, conduct code reviews, and ensure compliance with ATC/SAP guidelines.
- Support modernization initiatives: S/4HANA conversions, brownfield/greenfield implementations, cloud integrations, and data migration projects.
- Troubleshoot complex issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and propose scalable remediation.
- Mentor cross-functional development teams and drive adherence to architectural principles and best practices.
Skills and attributes for success
- 14+ years of deep hands-on experience in SAP ABAP, OO ABAP, design patterns, advanced debugging, performance tuning, and modern S/4HANA development including CDS Views, AMDP, ABAP on HANA optimization, RAP (Restful ABAP Programming Model), OData services, BOPF, and Fiori/UI5 integration.

- Strong architectural experience building large-scale RICEFW solutions and integrations (IDoc, RFC, BAPI, SOAP/REST).
- Strong experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), including CAP/RAP-based side-by-side extensions, SAP BTP Integration Suite, Event Mesh, security (XSUAA), and deployment/CI-CD models.
- Experience in RFP/RFI/RFQ technical solutioning and proposal creation.

- Leading technical workstreams and development teams
- Creating project plans, sprint plans, and technical deliverables
- Tracking scope, risks, dependencies, and change management
- Working with PMO/Program teams on governance and reporting
- Managing stakeholders across business, functional, and technical streams

- Solid understanding of cross-module SAP processes (FI, MM, SD, PP, HCM).
- Familiarity with cloud integration platforms (CPI, API Management).
- Strong skills in stakeholder management, communication, estimation, and documentation.
- Experience working across global delivery models (onshore/offshore).
Ideally, you’ll also
- Have SAP certifications in ABAP, S/4HANA, SAP BTP.
- Good to have PMP/Prince2 Project Management Certifications.
- Bring experience building clean-core transformation roadmaps.
- Have experience supporting or leading S/4HANA migration projects.
