Global Delivery Services refers to EY's worldwide network of service delivery centers. The GDS team plays an important role in EY’s strategy by ensuring effective support to EY’s growth agenda.

The Opportunity

Over the last decade, enterprise application modernization, database consolidation, and platform transformation have become critical to ensuring scalability, availability, performance, and business continuity for global organizations. To support this evolving technology landscape, EY leverages deep expertise in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database technologies, automation-driven administration, and migration best practices to deliver secure, high-performance, and resilient database platforms for mission-critical business applications.

As part of our global EY GDS team, you will work as an Oracle and SQL Server Database Administrator, supporting large-scale enterprise database environments across multiple platforms. You will be involved in solving complex technical challenges, including database migrations, upgrades, high availability implementations, disaster recovery solutions, and performance optimization, while contributing to the modernization and transformation of enterprise database environments in a collaborative, international delivery environment.

We are offering you a challenging and rewarding role. You will use your advanced expertise in Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server Administration to deliver secure, scalable, high-availability database solutions supporting critical business applications. This position provides opportunities to collaborate with global stakeholders while supporting large-scale database transformation, modernization, migration, and operational excellence initiatives.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Oversee Oracle and SQL Server database administration activities and identify opportunities for performance, scalability, and availability improvements.
• Accountable for ensuring database standards, operational procedures, and governance policies are followed across enterprise environments.
• Act as the first-level technical escalation point for Oracle and SQL Server related incidents and production issues.
• Perform and support end-to-end database migrations across platforms, including Oracle to Oracle, SQL Server to SQL Server, and Oracle to SQL Server migration projects.
• Lead technical assessments, solution design, migration planning, and implementation activities.
• Manage database backup and recovery strategies, disaster recovery solutions, and high-availability architectures.
• Support database performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive monitoring activities.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and project teams during database upgrade and migration initiatives.
• Ensure database configurations, operational guidelines, and technical documentation are maintained and aligned with enterprise standards.
• Perform technical reviews and implement corrective actions to improve database reliability and operational efficiency.
• Identify at-risk database environments and proactively mitigate operational and migration-related risks.

Strong Understanding Of

• Oracle Database administration (11g, 12c, 18c, 19c, 21c and later versions).
• Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN Backup & Recovery.
• SQL Server administration (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022).
• SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, Replication, Log Shipping, Clustering.
• Performance tuning and troubleshooting for Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• Database security, compliance, auditing, and patch management.
• Cross-platform database migrations and heterogeneous migration methodologies.
• Linux and Windows server administration fundamentals.
• Production support and operational database management.

Experience in Executing End-to-End Database Migrations Including

• Oracle Database upgrades and platform migrations.
• Oracle RAC and Data Guard migrations.
• SQL Server version upgrades and migrations.
• Cross-platform migrations (Windows to Linux, Linux to Unix, Physical to Virtual).
• Oracle to SQL Server migration assessments and planning.
• Data migration, validation, reconciliation, and cutover activities.
• High availability and disaster recovery setup and migration.
• Database consolidation and modernization initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities

• Support database upgrades, patching, maintenance, and lifecycle management activities.
• Perform root cause analysis for production incidents and performance issues.
• Conduct database health checks and recommend improvements.
• Automate routine DBA activities using Shell, PowerShell, Python, or SQL scripting.
• Support operational readiness reviews and migration go-live activities.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to ensure stable database operations.

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

• 3-8 years of relevant experience in Oracle Database Administration and/or SQL Server Administration.
• Strong experience supporting production database environments.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, and SQL Server High Availability technologies.
• Experience executing database upgrades and migration projects.
• Hands-on experience with database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experience working on Linux and/or Windows server environments.
• Knowledge of scripting and automation tools.
• BTech / BE / MTech / MCA or equivalent qualification.

Additionally, Good to Have

• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB administration.
• Experience in Exadata environments.
• Experience with Oracle GoldenGate, SQL Server Replication, or other replication technologies.
• Database migration certifications or relevant Oracle/Microsoft certifications.
• Experience designing database modernization and transformation strategies.
• Exposure to enterprise-scale migration and consolidation programs.
