We are looking for a Manager in our Business Consulting Practice within thes Life Actuarial domain.

The opportunity

We are looking for Managers within the Life Actuarial team delivering actuarial solutions and working closely with Senior Managers or client partners in EY’s global network of insurance sector and risk consulting professionals. 

Our clients are large multinationals, conglomerate groups and domestic insurers within the Life insurance sector. The team delivers sustainable benefits to our clients by enhancing business decisions using improved and effective applications of core actuarial principles and methodologies within applicable standard practice.

Our growing team of professionals comes from diverse backgrounds, all committed to being long term trusted advisors to our clients. This role will offer exposure to diverse areas comprising assets and liabilities within life actuarial domain.

Your key responsibilities

As a Manager, you will:

• Responsible for delivering high-quality results and generating effective and impactful solutions
• Provide focused solutions and training to Staff members
• Be responsible for ensuring all engagements are delivered within agreed timelines
• Review work completed by junior team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables during time-sensitive deadlines
• Deliver engagements in line with our values and commitment to quality, consistently driving projects to completion and ensuring that work is of a high standard

Skills and attributes for success

• Good analytical skills
• Hands-on experience in actuarial valuation and projections using FIS Prophet will be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of Prophet model structure, data flows, checking frameworks, and control processes; ability to enhance and optimize existing Prophet models
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel; working knowledge of VBA is a strong advantage
• Project management experience and ability to manage teams and multiple stakeholders
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations
• High level of self-motivation and ownership in driving deliverables
• Strong presentation and documentation skills
• Willingness to travel to meet and work with clients

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Experienced resource – preferably 6-12 years
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: Actuarial reserving, Assumption setting, US GAAP / STAT, FIS Prophet

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Preferred Actuarial Degree
• A strong academic background with a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, business, finance, or a related field
• Overseas exposure (especially US market experience)
• Understanding of Life/Annuity products under US GAAP/STAT regulations
• Knowledge of FIS Prophet/ Insurance Risk Suite End-to-End (DCS, PP, PE, PRD, IDR and PP APIs) preferred
