We provide advisory services encompassing:
- Accounting, reporting and controlling process assessment and design including information systems implementation
- Finance process optimization and automation incl. Robotics Process Automation
- Accounting and regulatory support on accounting change in IFRS (IFRS conversion and implementation, new standards implementation)
- Financial consolidation
- Transactions accounting
- Audit readiness and audit remediation services
- Finance function strategic transformation
- Data analytics and visualization
- Investment Accounting, hedge accounting and derivative accounting
- Short term assignments to finance functions – accounting specialist, compliance specialist, consolidation specialist, controller etc.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Manage debt servicing and operations of company’s borrowing portfolio, foreign exchange, derivative transactions
- Manage subledger and reconcile with the general ledger.
- Handle investment accounting for alternative assets, including private credit and real estate.
- Address automation challenges related to investment processes.
- Perform detailed variance analysis and communicate findings to clients.
- Work with Investment Systems such as FIS, SAP Module, Calypso, Clearwater and BlackRock & Treasury Management Systems (TMS) such as Reval, Kariba, and FIS Quantum.
- Support securitization transactions and de-recognition assessments.
- Ensure all deliverables are prepared accurately and with a high level of quality.
- Ensure ad hoc requests from clients and investors are addressed in a timely manner.
- Performing month-end close processes.
- Develop knowledge of tools and applications in support of the accounting function and highlight opportunities for improvement.
- Good knowledge of Investment and Derivative products (i.e. Fixed Loans, MBS, IRS, CCS, Repo etc)
- Knowledge Front office and back-office trade of products with end accounting
- Sector specific knowledge of Insurance, Banking and Assets/wealth Management
- Ensure compliance with IFRS/ GAAP and statutory reporting.
- Participating in the proposal development process for prospective investments engagements
- Support in delivery of accounting and regulatory change projects by assessing engagement risks, driving conclusions
- Preparation of underlying materials as well as leading/participation in client workshops
Our Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Audit, Controllership and/or Consulting within the Banking sector – incl. expertise in latest IFRS/ US GAAP developments
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, complemented with a further relevant professional education (e.g. Chartered Accountant, CPA, or ACCA)
- Expertise in Investment Systems is preferred
- Expertise in investments and related accounting policies.
- Advanced skills and experience with: Financial risk management (currency, interest rate), Cash flow forecasting, Treasury technology
- Good understanding of IFRS/US GAAP and International auditing standards.
- Knowledge of IFRS/ US GAAP for financial instruments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in large asset management firms (e.g., Blackstone, State Street, PIMCO, Invesco) or banking institutions is preferred
- Prior exposure to managed services, controllership functions, or financial reporting is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills
- Ability and comfort level in researching client inquires and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
