Job Role: Delivery Lead (STE & Agile Coach)
Delivery Lead (STE & Agile Coach) duties
- Servant Leader who aligns all ARTs on a common cadence, based on events calendar at Portfolio/Layer Level, including but not restricted to PI Planning, Solution Train syncs, and Solution Demos.
- Performs team coaching at the Train/Layer level with a systemic approach to maximize learning, self-organization, performance and sense of accountability, focusing on teams’ capability to define and refine their agile processes and frameworks to achieve organizational/Layer goals, also improving team’s relationship across the entire Train/Layer/Platform.
- Engages closely with other major functions [Product, Engineering, Architecture and Operations] to align and improve Delivery functions.
- Facilitate focused sessions and provide guidance to enhance collaboration within and across the Layers on strategic initiatives.
- Assess the Product/Train/Layer’s Agile maturity, creating and prioritizing a backlog, driving it to an action plan with the aid of other organizational areas, towards sustainable a and relentless improvement.
- Performs consultancy to ensure that the Product/Train/Layer results are in line with Agile values and principles, by Training teams in Agile topics, whenever needed.
- Performs mentoring to develop new agile team facilitators, Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers and Agile Coaches through a mentor-mentee relationship.
- Train Products/Train/Layer on being Data Driven, by analyzing performance, health, quality, and execution metrics throughout the PI Execution.
- Drives and participates in the Agile Community of Practice within the Product/Train/Layers/Platform, consuming and contributing with value.
- Works in tandem with other Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers and other Delivery Leads to spread agile values and principles in the entire organization.
- Release Train Engineer
Introduction
- This section outlines the roles and responsibilities of a Release Train Engineer as part of the Agile Methodology.
- The Release Train Engineer is a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train. An Agile Release Train is a team of Agile teams which develop one or more interrelated solutions.
Responsibilities
- To the Agile Development Team
- Support and coach Scrum Masters and Agile teams which are part of the Agile Release Train. Encourage collaboration across teams.
- Define PI (Program Increment) calendar.
- Facilitate PI Planning events.
- Publish PI Planning outcome to stakeholders for visibility.
- Track progress of the teams throughout PI execution.
- Facilitate periodic sync meetings, such as Scrum of Scrums (SoS).
- Help manage risks, dependencies and blockers.
- Facilitate Agile Release Train level demos with Product Managers.
- Drive relentless improvement.
- Support Scrum Masters to develop knowledge to enhance practices. Play an active role in the agile community and bring in and spread out agile practices with Scrum Masters.
