We are seeking a dynamic Manager for our Business Consulting team in the Oil & Gas Upstream domain. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in upstream operations, prior consulting experience, digital transformation expertise, and the ability to lead multi-discipline engagements.

Role Details

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and deliver consulting engagements across the upstream oil & gas value chain (exploration, drilling, production operations, reservoir management, field development).
• Drive transformation programmes focused on operational excellence, cost and performance optimisation, digital oilfield / connected oilfield initiatives, asset integrity & reliability, and sustainability in upstream operations.
• Develop and manage project frameworks: define scope, prepare work breakdown structures, set up governance and reporting mechanisms, monitor progress and deliverables, manage risks and issues, oversee change management.
• Leverage data, analytics, IoT, AI/ML, cloud platforms and digital twins to generate insights, improve decision-making and operational performance for upstream clients.
• Engage with clients across global geographies, collaborate with EY member firms and internal subject-matter experts, and maintain high-quality stakeholder relationships.
• Mentor and manage consulting teams, build capability within the team, ensure delivery excellence and knowledge transfer.
• Support business development efforts: participate in proposal writing, shape solution offers, present to clients, win new work in the upstream space.

Must Have Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical or equivalent).
• Approximately 10 - 15 years of total experience, with a blend of upstream oil & gas industry experience and management consulting experience.
• Proven track record of working on upstream engagements in areas such as drilling, production optimisation, asset operations, field development, reservoir management.
• Strong consulting skills: problem solving, structured thinking, articulating insights and recommendations, writing high-quality client deliverables and presentations.
• Experience with digital transformation initiatives relevant to upstream oil & gas: IoT, analytics, cloud, digital twin, automation in field operations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills; ability to operate in a global, cross‐functional environment.

Good to Have

• Master’s degree (MBA, Engineering Management) or relevant post-graduate qualification.
• Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Digital Transformation credentials.
• Hands-on experience with upstream-relevant technology platforms (e.g., SCADA/PI systems, digital twin solutions, asset management systems).
• Exposure to lean/operational-excellence frameworks, reliability engineering, maintenance optimisation.
• Prior experience with a global consulting firm (Big 4 or equivalent).
• Willingness to travel and work with international clients.
