About Strategy and Transactions

 

The Strategy and Transactions team guides clients to make better, more informed decisions as they buy, sell, separate, integrate, reshape, restructure or rethink their business strategy. We help our clients by providing advice on all aspects of transactions, from inception to execution and completion.

This role is for our Transaction Diligence Team that is responsible to assist  businesses meet specific challenges, by identifying the key drivers of revenue and profitability, identifying value adjustments, improving deal structures, mitigating risks and questioning assumptions on future performance. Through this due diligence process, we improve our clients negotiating position and accelerate smooth transactions with minimal disruption.

 

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Understanding the key business drivers in a transaction, agreeing value measurements with the client, and providing value to the client through insights, factual conclusions and advice
  • Gathering, verifying and assessing information, and formulating views
  • Planning, preparing and reviewing deliverables in various forms including written reports, Excel databooks, presentations and discussions with the client
  • Planning and monitoring the progress of the team
  • Building productive relationships with international teams involved in cross-border engagements
  • Sharing your technical and other knowledge with your team
  • Building on and developing internal and external networks through personal contacts
  • Playing a role in business plan initiatives (e.g. key accounts, recruitment, client service framework)
  • Taking responsibility for your own learning and development, providing coaching / support to others, and participating in upward feedback

To qualify for the role, you must have:

 

  • Have commercial awareness and experience in conducting financial due diligences (quality of earnings, net assets)
  • Able to prepare adjusted EBITDA, working capital and net debt schedules on the basis of the due diligence findings
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively evaluate a company's financial and operational performance, and to identify associated transaction risks, issues and red flags.
  • Have an ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification or relevant University degree
  • Be an excellent communicator, both oral and written
  • Have a proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, PowerBI, etc) to manage and analyse data effectively
  • Be an effective time manager, able to keep calm when under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Be a team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
