Senior Consultant, Project Management Office (PMO) – UKFS Consulting Service Delivery
The Opportunity
Are you ready to make a real impact in financial services? We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced PMO professional to join our Newcastle team. In this role, you will apply your experience and specialist knowledge to help clients deliver complex change and transformation programmes through effective project governance, planning, reporting and stakeholder management. You’ll be part of our Consulting Service Delivery (CSD) team in Newcastle, which specialises in the operational delivery of engagements which help our clients with their business challenges. You’ll have the opportunity to support clients across different CSD competency areas, including Conduct Risk, Financial Crime and Cybersecurity – and improve your skillsets to succeed in a digitally-enabled future.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Work effectively as part of operational delivery teams to support clients with PMO, transformation and broader Consulting engagements
- Lead coordination of project teams, ensuring delivery activities run smoothly and in line with EY standards
- Design and maintain effective governance, reporting and control processes to support successful programme delivery
- Supervise and support junior team members, providing coaching, feedback and ongoing professional development
- Act as a workplace coach for assigned junior colleagues, providing coaching, performance feedback, pastoral and development support
- Review and quality assure project governance, reporting and management information produced by junior team members
- Build strong relationships with clients and colleagues across EY, contributing to a positive and collaborative culture
- Prepare and review clear, insightful reports, presentations and management information for clients and stakeholders
- Own assigned engagement management activities, including resource tracking, financial monitoring and delivery reporting
- Contribute to training initiatives and foster an inclusive, high-performing team environment
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery through digital, automation and AI capabilities, championing adoption of digitally-enabled ways of working across project teams
- Contribute to the development of PMO and broader CSD capability through knowledge sharing, training and continuous improvement initiatives
- Continuously develop experience across a broad range of CSD solution areas, contributing to the wider success of the team and building a diverse delivery skillset

- Strong understanding of PMO disciplines, including governance, reporting, planning, risk and issue management, and stakeholder coordination
- Strong team leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate delivery activities, provide direction and support high-quality team performance

To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Strong PMO experience working in a professional environment
- Experience supporting project governance, reporting, planning, stakeholder management, risk and issue management, or transformation delivery activities
- Experience coordinating project teams and supporting successful delivery outcomes
- A commitment to continuous learning, including developing capabilities in digital tools, automation and emerging technologies that enhance delivery effectiveness
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Support EY’s connected working approach, with presence in the Newcastle office dictated by Business or Client demands
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Experience in Financial Services
- Experience coaching or mentoring junior team members
- Experience using digital, automation, reporting or workflow tools to support project delivery and governance
