The Platforms Practice specializes in mission-critical, intelligent platforms for the world’s most ambitious organizations. Join our innovative team as a Manager in UX/UI Design, where you'll have the opportunity to create engaging experiences that resonate with users and enhance their interaction with products, services, and brands. In this role, you'll leverage technology to deliver user-led design solutions, analyze user behaviors, and produce graphic/UX designs that significantly improve product usability, accessibility, and desirability.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

As a UX/UI Design Manager, you'll be responsible for managing and delivering complex design projects, ensuring quality and effective risk management. You'll apply your expertise to guide others and make decisions that impact the immediate work area and business function. Expect to engage in:

  • Developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Recommending changes to policies and establishing new procedures.
  • Exercising judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results. You'll also be accountable for performance objectives and metrics set locally, including client service, quality and risk management, sales and business growth, solution development, and teaming. Travel may be required as needed by external clients.

  • Build great products and services by influencing the end-to-end solution 
  • Lead end-to-end UX design for new and existing features, from discovery to delivery 
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to inform design decisions 
  • Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that communicate interaction and design ideas 
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure design intent is carried through to implementation 
  • Advocate for user centered design principles across the organization 
  • Contribute to and help evolve our design system and UX standards 
  • Analyze product performance and user behavior to identify opportunities for improvement 
  • Defend and champion for design concepts and rationale to cross functional teams and leadership 
  • Proficiency in Accessibility, Agile Delivery and Development, and Design Thinking
  • Expertise in Facilitation, Graphical User Interfaces, and Information Architecture
  • Skills in Prototyping, Responsive Design, and Storytelling
  • Ability to define, analyze, and map Technology Business Requirements
  • Proficiency in Technology Graphic Tools, Usability Evaluation, and Web Analytics
  • Experience in User Experience Design, User Interface Design, and User Research 

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree (4-year degree) in design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field 
  • Typically, no less than 4 - 6 years of practical experience in UX or product design 
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating user centered design thinking, process, problem-solving, and outcomes 
  • Experience in leading design projects 
  • Experience in AI-powered tools including automation, prompting, or generative design 
  • Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) 
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing 
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into simple, intuitive experiences 
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills 
  • Comfort working in an agile, collaborative, multi-discipline environment 
  • A growth mindset and willingness to iterate based on feedback 

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Experience designing for enterprise or SaaS products 
  • Familiarity with front‑end technologies (HTML/CSS/JS) 
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) 
  • Experience working with or contributing to design systems 
  • Strong commercial astuteness and the ability to communicate with impact.
  • A knack for complex problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • A high level of digital fluency and emotional agility.
  • Experience in hybrid collaboration and learning agility.
  • A proven track record in managing change, negotiation, and influencing.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.  The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $117,100 to $214,400.  The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $140,500 to $243,700.  Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.  In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
  • Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
