As an eDiscovery Manager, you'll play a critical role in helping legal teams navigate complex litigation, investigations, regulatory matters, and information governance challenges. Working closely with attorneys, outside counsel, case teams, and discovery operations professionals, you'll leverage advanced eDiscovery technologies, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions to deliver high-quality outcomes across the entire Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) lifecycle.
The opportunity
The eDiscovery Manager serves as a strategic advisor and subject matter expert supporting litigation, regulatory matters, subpoenas, and internal investigations. This role partners closely with attorneys, case managers, outside counsel, and Discovery Operations to deliver high-quality, defensible eDiscovery services throughout the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) lifecycle
The eDiscovery Manager provides leadership on discovery strategy, preservation, collection, processing, review, analytics, production, and disposition activities. The successful candidate will possess experience with enterprise eDiscovery platforms and modern technology-assisted review and AI-enabled workflows.
Your key responsibilities
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on enterprise eDiscovery and legal technology platforms.
- Leverage advanced analytics, technology-assisted review (TAR), and AI-enabled review workflows to improve efficiency and defensibility.
- Lead discovery strategy discussions, matter kickoff meetings, search consultations, and status meetings with attorneys, case managers, and outside counsel.
- Serve as eDiscovery advisor for complex litigation, investigations, and regulatory matters.
- Design, develop, and validate AI prompts, classification criteria, and review workflows.
- Develop keyword searches, production saved searches and quality control processes.
- Advise matter teams on defensible review and production strategies.
- Review production specifications and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Communication calmly and credibly during high-pressure matters, tight deadlines, and complex technical disputes.
- Responsible for quality and oversight of matter activities to ensure compliance with EY standards and industry best practices.
- Responsible for matter and portfolio level reporting and documentation.
Skills and attributes for success
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and triage issues as they arise
- Experience working directly with clients on complex discovery matters and portfolios.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal operations staff to manage deadlines and accomplish project objectives.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Undergraduate degree required.
- Experience advising attorneys and legal stakeholders on discovery strategy and defensibility.
- Experience designing, testing, validating, and optimizing prompts for AI-assisted legal and eDiscovery workflows.
- Experience leveraging generative AI for document classification, review acceleration, issue identification, summarization, and workflow automation.
- Experience leading complex, high-risk, or high-volume discovery matters involving multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in the Discovery lifecycle including document collection, evidence management, processing, review and production.
- Professional demeanor and strong communication skills, both written and oral to manage both internal operations staff and collaborate with engagement team members, clients, and outside counsel.
- Minimum 8-10 years of discovery experience.
- Advanced knowledge of the EDRM lifecycle, including preservation, collection, processing, review, analysis, and production.
- Experience with advanced analytics, technology-assisted review, AI-assisted review, and large-scale document review workflows.
- Demonstrated experience advising attorneys and legal teams on complex discovery matters.
- Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Solid attention to detail to help manage and oversee quality of the services provided by the e-discovery operations team.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Industry related certifications such as but not limited to: Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA)

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job is:

- New York City, Boston, and Washington DC Metro Areas, Washington State, and Southern California offices – $110,200 to $187,400
- Bay Area California offices – $114,800 to $195,200
- All other offices locations in the US, including Sacramento – $91,900 to $171,800
- Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
