As a professional within EY’s Financial Instruments Tax Solutions (FITS) practice, you will play a key role in supporting a diverse portfolio of financial services clients, including asset managers, private equity firms, and insurance companies. The FITS Tax practice provides a dynamic environment where you can further enhance your technical and consulting skills while helping leading financial institutions navigate the increasingly complex tax and regulatory landscape. In this role, you will work alongside experienced professionals to address the tax compliance and reporting challenges faced by world-class tax functions, delivering innovative solutions that drive value and support our clients’ strategic objectives.

 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team of consultants and senior professionals on finance transformation engagements, helping clients enhance their tax and operational processes.
  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and execution of proprietary debt tax technology solutions to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients.
  • Drive improvements in tax function performance by working effectively within teams, motivating colleagues, and building meaningful, long-lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted technical resource on complex tax matters related to fixed-income securities and other financial instruments.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development, enhancement, and maintenance of EY’s proprietary debt tax technology platforms and tools.
  • Participate in client engagements that may require travel, depending on project requirements, client needs, and geographic location.

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

To qualify for the role you must have

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience
  • A basic understanding of fixed income securities including corporate debt, bonds, ABS/MBS securities
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, analytical abilities

 

Ideally, you will also have

 

  • Exposure to the financial services industry, accounting/finance/tax, tax or finance performance improvement, tax software development and/or implementation
  • CPA, JD, LLM, MBA, Enrolled Agent or ability to achieve one of the certifications
  • Tax compliance and consulting experience serving financial services clients
  • Project management and critical thinking skills
  • Basic understanding of AI use case and embrace the use if AI to drive efficiencies and streamline results

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.  The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $69,700 to $114,800.  The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $83,500 to $130,600.  Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.  In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
  • Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
