The opportunity
EY is a leader in serving the global financial services marketplace and the only professional services firm with a separate business unit dedicated to the financial services industry – the Financial Services Organization (FSO). Our focused model and bold ambition have put us at the center of the events that continue to reshape and redefine our industry, working side by side with a range of clients from our most venerable institutions to dynamic new entrants across Banking and Capital Markets, Wealth and Asset Management, Insurance, and Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction. Our purpose is to help build a financial services industry in which financial institutions are trusted and flourish, and the global economy is healthy, growing, and secure. If you have a passion for rallying together to solve complex challenges, then come join our dynamic FSO team!
Our Business Tax Advisory practice gives you the opportunity to focus on US Tax – Information Reporting & Withholding. You will work in a group environment on challenging information reporting and withholding engagements across all financial services sectors. We offer the specialization in assisting clients with mission-critical operational tax issues and customer reporting issues. Specifically, our experienced practitioners work across tax and operations to deliver advice and support throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with colleagues to assist clients in understanding relevant tax rules and implementing changes to their operations, processes, and systems. The IRW team works on challenging information reporting and withholding engagements in the financial services, banking, insurance, and multinational sectors. These engagements will primarily focus on non-resident alien (NRA) withholding and reporting (IRC Sections 1441 to 1446) and domestic withholding and reporting matters. You can expect to work on engagements dealing with cost basis reporting and various other global compliance and reporting initiatives. As you progress within EY and our IRW tax team, you will become a trusted business advisor to your clients. As you develop, you will benefit from being led and mentored by nationally recognized tax professionals who include some of the firm’s most senior tax talent.
As a Senior in Customer Tax Operations and Reporting, you will play a pivotal role in supporting financial institutions and clients in meeting complex regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for gathering and verifying customer documents in accordance with Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and Common Reporting Standards (CRS), updating client records, and providing indirect tax reporting services such as Withholding Tax (WHT), GST, and VAT. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with local and global regulations, including entity classification, registration, due diligence, and advisory on economic substance laws. You will be part of a team that leverages advanced technology to deliver comprehensive tax reporting services, making a tangible impact on clients’ regulatory obligations.
Your key responsibilities
You will perform technical IRW‑specific work, including interpreting IRS Code and Treasury Regulations and drafting technical guidance to support information reporting and withholding requirements. You may conduct detailed tax technical analysis to support client positions and regulatory interpretations specific to IRW matters.

You will contribute to the execution of processes, solutions, and projects, applying sound judgment and selecting appropriate methodologies to inform recommendations. Your work will directly impact your immediate team and clients, and you may help coordinate the work of junior colleagues. You will be accountable for meeting performance objectives and metrics, including client service, quality and risk management, sales and business growth, and solution development. The role is billable to external clients, and you will define and execute deliverables, track project status, and maintain engagement economics. Regular travel may be required to meet client needs, and you will actively participate in client working sessions, often serving as a workstream member or team lead. This is an opportunity to develop your project management skills, support resource planning, and assist in RFP responses, all while building strong client relationships and supporting additional service opportunities.
