The opportunity

The Product and Experience Design (PxD) Team, as part of the Platforms competency within FSO Technology Consulting, works collaboratively with clients to transform their business through disruptive innovation enablement and transformational design solutions. The team supports our clients in modernizing systems, processes, operating structures and products to enhance business and customer-facing platforms and services to support high performance in a rapidly changing and competitive environment. Our team helps clients sustain competitive advantage and profitability by developing technology strategies, products, and solutions to stay ahead of the rapid pace of change and disruption and supporting the execution of complex transformations. 

 

We are looking for an experienced, passionate, results-oriented Product Manager who is a great problem solver with deep and proven experience in delivering products and designing product organizations to market to join our team of digital professionals in our PxD practice.

 

Your key responsibilities

The goal is to support our clients to transform their business through product management.   As a Product Manager, you will work with multi-discipline feature teams including user experience experts, architects, engineers and others to define and roll out products and services for large global organizations.  You will take a user-centric and data-driven approach to product development.  You will advocate for the user throughout the product development lifecycle. You can break down and simplify complex processes and touchpoints to deliver exceptional experiences. You are a strategic thinker, can prioritize and define product roadmaps, manage a product backlog, make quick decisions and coordinate the team to release quality products within planned timelines. You understand modern platform structures, cloud architectures, digital platforms and enablers, and data strategy considerations.  In addition, you understand and have a perspective on how product and delivery organizations are structured and operate within complex, regulated national and global companies. Outside of client engagements, you have experience with business development activities (e.g. pursuits, proposals) and practice building activities such as mentoring teams and developing/delivering trainings.

 

Skills and attributes for

  • Strategy and Organization
    • Develop product strategies that align with business objectives and account for technology, data and experience design considerations
    • Support defining product organization and operating models (e.g. product taxonomy, organizational structure, funding methods, product delivery processes, governance models, decision-making models) that help our clients better allocate funding, prioritize work and drive quality and efficient delivery
    • Improve portfolio management with product metrics and OKRs that align work to business objectives and increase transparency/traceability of outcomes
  • Technology Delivery
    • Drive technology delivery through defining business requirements (user stories and acceptance criteria), prioritizing backlogs, and creating and maintaining roadmaps
    • Support cross-functional teams of designers, engineers and testers through the software development lifecycle (SDLC) from ideation through implementation and deployment
    • Advocate and operationalize cross-functional best practices such as user testing, functional and regression test automation and alignment to industry/client standards
  • Product Enablement
    • Utilize prevalent product management tools (e.g. JIRA, Azure DevOps, AhA!, Productboard) to ideate and deliver technology solutions
    • Utilize product analytics software and frameworks (e.g, Pendo, amplitude, etc.) to derive insights on user behavior, product performance, and value delivery, translating findings into actionable recommendations
    • Advise on and implement best practices and standards for experience design, agile delivery, technology and data
    • Learn and evangelize leading technologies including generative AI to improve quality and efficiency throughout the SDLC (e.g. user story definition)
  • Core Consulting
    • Construct and communicate a compelling story to rally the client around potential changes and associated benefits
    • Drive desired outcomes defined in client engagements and carry through to implementation
    • Begin developing long-term client relationships and networks and cultivate business development opportunities.
    • Effectively work with client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds fostering an innovative and inclusive work environment. 
    • Demonstrate understanding of current technology environment and industry trends

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, or a related field and 3 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, or a related field and 2 years of work experience.
  • Proven delivery skills including the ability to identify issues and risks and escalate appropriately, manage communications with EY and client team members, and be accountable for client deliverables
  • Facilitate discussions with technical, design and business subject-matter resources to document requirements, establish a vision, and articulate alternatives for future state solutions across various domains and channels.
  • Has supported product vision, defined and managed product roadmaps, prioritized and managed the backlog and has supported product/technology launches.
  • Can participate in and drive ideation sessions, standups, sprints and scrums.
  • Has a specific domain knowledge and understands the dynamics impacting their product such as market trends, technology and regulatory rules.
  • Experience with successfully managing projects with defined deliverables and budgets. Experience must include budgeting and managing the schedule; client relationship management; communicating strategically around key issues; conflict resolution and consensus building.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of complex information systems and technology organizations and to be able to work effectively between the application, data infrastructure, operations and security architectural spaces
  • Proven delivery skills including the ability to scope/size a project; staff a team with the appropriate skill set; provide subject matter direction and guidance to a team; manage communications with the project sponsors and manage the delivery of an engagement workstream.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Requires domestic and regional travel up to 80% to serve client needs.

What we offer
 
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $99,100 to $181,600. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $118,900 to $206,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
