The opportunity

The Technology Consulting practice works with clients to analyze, formulate, design, mobilize and drive strategic transformation initiatives. We advise clients on their most pressing strategic challenges and opportunities surrounding business strategy, customer, growth, profit optimization, innovation, technology strategy, and digital transformation.  We also have a unique ability to help our clients translate strategy into actionable technical design, and transformation planning/mobilization which meets our purpose of building a better working world.  Through our unique combination of competencies and solutions, EY’s Financial Services Technology Consulting team helps our clients sustain competitive advantage and profitability by developing strategies to stay ahead of the rapid pace of change and disruption and supporting the execution of complex transformations.

Your key responsibilities

You will support stand-alone projects or key workstreams within multiple client engagements, monitor progress and risks, and help ensure stakeholders are kept informed. You will show emerging leadership, collaborate across diverse teams, deliver quality client service, and continue to develop strong technical capabilities. Staff are expected to contribute to client engagements, support an innovative team culture, and collaborate closely with senior team members while developing core consulting skills and participating in sales support and practice development activities.

The Candidate must have the ability to travel in accordance with client and other job requirements. This travel can be as much as 80% to 100% of a work week.  Travel may be international.

Skills and attributes for success

• Storyboarding, executive presence & communications, strong presentation and speaking skills, focused on impactful ability to synthesize and re-frame content
• Ability to demonstrate working knowledge and experience with IT management processes, industry risk, IT program/ project management, systems development lifecycles, knowledge of the IT function and how IT delivers value
• Cost optimization and portfolio rationalization
• IT domains including application development & lifecycle management, testing, IT operations & production support, IT infrastructure, IT planning, IT process improvement strategy, IT governance, risk, and controls
• Stand-alone and Carve-Out analysis for divestitures, IT synergy analysis for mergers and acquisitions, Buy-side, and sell-side IT pre-deal due-diligence, post deal and value creation engagements
• Experience delivering: IT global delivery model, IT workforce optimization, IT service management, IT operating model (business alignment, delivery capabilities, shared services, centers of excellence, etc.), IT sourcing / vendor management or IT service management (assess, design, build)

To qualify for the role, you must have

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field
• A minimum of 1 year of work experience that must be relevant within the industry or as a consultant in a professional services firm
• Ability to deliver on and take ownership of project work
• Experience in supporting the technical direction of a project from initiation and requirements through design, build, testing, and implementation using frameworks such as Agile and Waterfall
