The Opportunity
As a Senior Consultant within EY's Financial Services Subledger practice, you will help leading insurance, banking, asset management, and alternative investment organizations transform their finance, accounting, reporting, and data environments. You will work with clients to deliver large-scale finance transformation initiatives, investment accounting platform implementations, subledger modernization programs, data migrations, and enterprise reporting solutions.
You'll have the opportunity to work alongside business, accounting, operations, and technology stakeholders to solve complex challenges, improve financial processes, and implement scalable technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency, data quality, and financial reporting capabilities.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Support finance transformation and technology-enabled accounting initiatives
- Deliver investment accounting, subledger, and financial systems implementation programs across the financial services sector.
- Evaluate current-state processes and technologies, design future-state operating models, and support implementation roadmaps.
- Partner with business, accounting, and technology stakeholders to drive solution design and delivery.
Define accounting, reporting, and data requirements
- Gather and document business, functional, data, and reporting requirements.
- Support the design of accounting frameworks, including financial product lifecycles, accounting events, chart of accounts structures, accounting elections, and posting rules.
- Develop functional specifications and process documentation to support business and technology transformation initiatives.
Lead data conversion, reconciliation, and testing activities
- Support data migration, conversion, validation, and reconciliation efforts across complex financial systems.
- Develop and execute testing strategies, test cases, and validation procedures, including functional, integration, user acceptance, and parallel testing.
- Analyze accounting and operational data to investigate issues, resolve discrepancies, and improve data quality.
Develop reporting, analytics, and business intelligence solutions
- Establish a Finance Data Mart that centralizes finance data for downstream reporting and analytics
- Analyze client’s current state reporting processes to document business requirements and technical specifications
- Design and develop financial, regulatory, management, and operational reports and dashboards using business intelligence and data visualization tools to inform decisions and support regulatory compliance
Support solution deployment and business adoption
- Collaborate with software vendors and client stakeholders to support system configuration and implementation.
- Deliver end-user training and support post-go-live stabilization activities.
- Provide ongoing recommendations to improve processes, controls, and reporting effectiveness.

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience supporting finance transformation, investment accounting, subledger, financial systems implementation, or technology consulting engagements.
- Experience and understanding of financial products including payments, deposits, loans, securities, debt, derivatives, insurance contracts, reinsurance, etc.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using SQL, Excel, and/or other data analysis tools to solve complex business and accounting challenges.
- Understanding of financial services’ business processes, accounting operations, financial reporting, and data flows.
- Experience collaborating with business and technology stakeholders in a client-facing environment.
- Experience analyzing, reconciling, and validating financial and accounting data across system implementations, conversions, or transformation programs.

- Experience defining business, accounting, data, and reporting requirements and translating them into technology-enabled solutions.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25%-50%
Ideally, You'll Also Have
- Experience with investment accounting and financial platforms such as BlackRock Aladdin, Eagle, Clearwater Analytics, SimCorp Dimension, or similar solutions.
- Experience supporting ABOR, IBOR, subledger, general ledger, or investment data mart transformation initiatives.
- Experience within insurance, asset management, banking, wealth management, capital markets, or alternative investment organizations.
- Experience supporting GAAP, STAT, regulatory, management, or audited financial reporting processes.
- Experience designing data models, reporting frameworks, accounting rules, chart of accounts structures, or data integration solutions.
- Experience with business intelligence and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting technologies.
- Experience with data and automation tools including Alteryx, Python, VBA, Power Automate, or related technologies
- Experience leveraging AI enabled tools to improve workflows and processes, conduct analyses, and develop and distribute communications
- Experience with cloud-based transformation initiatives involving AWS, Azure, or modern enterprise data platforms.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Experience supporting system testing activities, including user acceptance testing (UAT), system integration testing (SIT), regression testing, or parallel testing.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, FRM, PMP, or equivalent credentials.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $97,300 to $178,300. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $116,700 to $202,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
