EY Consulting's Wealth Management practice is a unique, industry-focused business unit that provides consulting services including customer and business strategy, business transformation, and digital product management. The team leverages deep industry experience with strong functional capability and product knowledge to help our clients navigate a new age of disruption. The modern Wealth Management industry has been shaped by disruptive forces from pricing pressure and new market entrants to a need for refreshed distribution strategies in the face of shifting customer preferences. Our clients are seeking to redefine the value of the services they provide and answers to bold questions leading to new strategies, more efficient operations, and accelerated growth. We advise our clients on whether they should make investments in digital platforms and partnerships, how to answer difficult post-merger integration questions, how behavioral science and finance can be leveraged to influence customer decisions, how big data and AI will impact their business, how they can build a client-centric ecosystem to meet all consumer financial wellness needs, and much more. 

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Working in and leading a collaborative team, managing relationships and feedback, and aligning goals and expectations among direct reports, peers, project leads, and senior managers/partners
  • Developing subject matter expertise across the wealth management sector
  • Conducting primary and secondary research to develop transformative go-to-market strategies and roadmaps including competitive benchmarking, customer experience/journeys and segmentation, FinTech M&A and integration, and market entry
  • Supporting clients in building industry leading solutions utilizing Agile methodologies across the product development lifecycle from ideation to implementation; working cross functionally with User Experience/Design and Technology businesses
  • Develop industry defining thought leadership to form EY's perspective on disruptive topics in Wealth Management such as digital marketing, financial wellness, sustainability and ESG, behavioral science, and AI driven robo-advisor tools.

To qualify for the role you must have:

 

  • Degree in business, finance, accounting, computer science, engineering, or a related field; MBA or MS degree preferred
  • 8-14 years of relevant experience
  • Preferred experience includes:
    • Strong experience in Wealth and Asset Management (business, operations, or IT)
    • 6+ years of wealth management consulting, industry and/or service provide experience
  • Strong communications, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Experience working in a wealth management firm, private bank, investment management firm, capital markets firm, or as a consultant in one of these companies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise a team through all phases of the initiative life cycle
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills, coupled with a strong interest in further developing industry and deep content knowledge in the Wealth Management area
  • Ability and comfort level researching client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies
  • Willingness to travel to meet client needs and a valid driver's license and passport required 

 

Ideally, you'll also have

 Prior consulting experience with a consulting firm or large global financial institution

  • Prior experience working for a Fintech or financial software company
  • Prior consulting experience with a Big Four firm or large global financial institution
  • Prior experience operating in a traditional development framework (i.e., waterfall) in addition to Agile
  • Prior experience in product design or product development

What we offer
 
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $148,900 to $340,200. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $178,700 to $386,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
