The opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager with experience of 14+ years in Strategic Forecasting to lead forecasting engagements for global pharmaceutical clients. The individual will serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams in developing robust forecasts that inform strategic and operational business decisions.
The role requires deep expertise in pharmaceutical forecasting, strong therapeutic area knowledge, advanced stakeholder management capabilities, and the ability to drive innovation through analytics, AI, and forecasting best practices. The individual will be responsible for client delivery excellence, practice growth, thought leadership, and people development.
Your key responsibilities
As a Senior Manager in Commercial Analytics and Forecasting, you will lead complex forecasting engagements, ensuring high-quality delivery, governance, risk management, and client satisfaction across multiple programs. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior client stakeholders and cross-functional teams, providing insights and recommendations that inform strategic and operational business decisions.
In this pivotal role, you will:
- Lead large-scale global forecasting engagements across brands, franchises, and therapeutic areas.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior client stakeholders, including Commercial, Finance, Market Access, Business Development, and Portfolio Strategy teams.
- Drive long-range forecasting, scenario planning, portfolio forecasting, and lifecycle management activities.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on market dynamics, competitive intelligence, epidemiology, and business assumptions.
- Ensure delivery of accurate, actionable, and business-relevant forecasts aligned with client objectives.
- Present insights, recommendations, and strategic implications to executive leadership and client decision-makers.
- Ensure high-quality delivery, governance, risk management, and client satisfaction across multiple programs.
Overall delivery
- Define forecasting approaches, methodologies, and best practices across engagements.
- Oversee development and enhancement of patient-based, revenue-based, and analog-based forecasting models.
- Drive adoption of advanced analytics, AI, and Machine Learning techniques to improve forecasting accuracy and efficiency.
- Lead development of forecasting assumptions, scenario analyses, sensitivity testing, and risk assessments.
- Champion automation initiatives utilizing Python, SQL, Power BI, and emerging technologies.
- Establish forecasting standards, quality frameworks, and model validation processes.
Practice development
- Contribute to the strategic growth of EY's Life Sciences and Commercial Analytics practice.
- Lead development of proposals, RFP responses, solution accelerators, thought leadership, and go-to-market assets.
- Support account expansion through identification of new opportunities within existing clients.
- Build relationships with senior client stakeholders and support business development activities.
- Develop innovative offerings leveraging AI, advanced forecasting methodologies, and GenAI-enabled capabilities.
- Represent EY at industry forums, client workshops, and strategic discussions.
Stakeholder management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Finance, Market Access, HEOR, Medical Affairs, and Commercial Excellence teams.
- Influence decision-making through data-driven recommendations and executive-level communications.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment across global, regional, and local teams.
Team and People development
- Lead, coach, and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing talent with expertise in pharmaceutical forecasting and analytics.
- Create and execute development plans to support career growth and capability building.
- Strengthen team expertise in therapeutic areas, pharmaceutical sciences, strategic thinking, project management, and leadership.
- Foster an inclusive, agile, and high-performance team environment.
- Evaluate and manage team performance, providing regular feedback and development opportunities.
- Lead and mentor managers, consultants, and analysts across forecasting engagements.
- Build and develop high-performing forecasting teams.
- Drive capability development in therapeutic areas, forecasting methodologies, advanced analytics, AI/ML, and consulting skills.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, and delivery excellence.
- Support talent acquisition, workforce planning, performance management, and succession planning initiatives.
- Act as a coach and mentor to emerging leaders within the practice.

To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or another quantitative discipline, with relevant professional experience.
- BTech/Masters/PhD.
- 14+ years of experience in Strategic Forecasting.
- Deep expertise in pharmaceutical forecasting.
- Strong therapeutic area knowledge.
- Advanced stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to drive innovation through analytics, AI, and forecasting best practices.
- Experience in client delivery excellence, practice growth, thought leadership, and people development.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $144,000 to $329,100. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $172,800 to $374,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
