The opportunity

Your key responsibilities
- Serve clients in various public and private industries and sectors
- Interface directly with clients and lead day-to-day project management activities
- Analyze client data/information and prepare commensurate analyses
- Participate in analysis of large datasets and evaluate pertinent laws and regulations
- Collaborate with firm subject matter professionals to analyze client facts
- Provide guidance and direction to associates on engagements
- Work directly with BTS partners to deliver client engagements and support team development

- Assist in executing client engagements
- Provide timely and high-quality tax research and technical memoranda
- Proactively manage projects for timely delivery of analysis and client deliverables
- Support development of client relationships
- Learn and develop specific client industry and sector knowledge
- Guide associates with actionable performance feedback
- Stay current on trends and apply technical knowledge to client scenarios
- Demonstrate willingness to innovate using tools like SharePoint, MS Power BI, MS Power Pivot, MS Power Query, and Alteryx
To qualify for the role, you must have
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, management information systems, or related field with approximately nine years of related work experience, OR a graduate degree in tax, law or management information systems with minimum eight years of related work experience
- A valid US Enrolled Agent, CPA or licensed attorney designation
- Experience preparing tax research and related analysis
- Proficiency in analyzing large datasets
- Ability to learn and apply complex tax and industry concepts
- Strong managerial, organizational, project management, and communication skills
- Comfort supervising teams of EY and client personnel
- Business and tax technical writing skills
- Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Access, and data mining tools
- Willingness to travel and work in a hybrid environment
Ideally, you'll also have
- Familiarity or experience with IRS tax controversy and statistical sampling
- Experience with data analytics and visualization tools like MS Power BI, MS Power Pivot, MS Power Query, and Alteryx
- Big 4 comparable experience
- Certifications in Alteryx or Microsoft products (MSCA)
- Advanced degree such as MST, MSA, JD, or LLM

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $130,600 to $298,700. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $156,800 to $339,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
