Senior Consultant – Business Process Architect

The Process Solutions and Automation practice at EY offers a rewarding career path helping our clients transform their business leveraging automation and AI-enabled tools to reimagine operational functions across their enterprise.
We are seeing an experienced Business Process Architect with a proven track record in process excellence, automation and AI-enabled transformation. This individual will play a key leadership role in helping our financial services and banking clients reimagine and optimize business operations through a systematic process design and application of intelligent automation and advanced technologies.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of banking, insurance, or capital markets operations and possess hands-on experience applying automation and AI solutions. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on delivery experience to align transformation initiatives to enterprise goals and measurable business outcomes.
This will be a full-time opportunity for a suitable candidate with an expectation of 50% domestic travel and up to 10% international travel as required.

Responsibilities:
- Operational Analysis and Improvement:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of current business processes and systems, value streams and capabilities to identify inefficiencies, control gaps, and opportunities for optimization and automation.
- Identify and prioritize opportunities to leverage automation, Generative AI, and Agentic AI to enhance productivity, reduce risk and enable operational efficiencies.
- Design and implement target-state operating models that integrate automation and AI solutions seamlessly into business processes.
- Develop process frameworks, governance models and standards that confirm consistency, scalability, and organizational compliance.
- Business Case Development:
- Lead the development of robust business cases for proposed initiatives, including cost/benefit analysis, risk assessment, and defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure success.
- Architectural Modeling:
- Lead the design and implementation of business architecture frameworks that align with client objectives and industry best practices.
- Create and maintain business architecture artifacts, including capability maps, value stream models, organizational structures, and process flows, to visually represent the enterprise and guide decision-making.
- Process Transformation Roadmap:
- Design and develop a multi-year process transformation roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on strategic impact and feasibility, and outlining dependencies and timelines
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Partner with executive stakeholders to define transformation strategies, develop business cases, and align initiatives to enterprise goals and measurable outcomes
- Facilitate workshops and meetings with senior business leaders, IT partners, and subject matter experts to gather requirements, define project scope, build consensus, prioritize initiatives and obtain buy-in for the change initiatives.
- Technology Alignment:
- Collaborate with enterprise, solution, and data architects to ensure technology solutions support and enable the defined business capabilities and align with the overall IT framework.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate with global teams to support the client delivery.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to provide innovative solutions to clients.
Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Overall, 6 - 8 years of experience with a minimum of 2 years of experience in business architecture, process improvement, or operational efficiency in Financial Services organizations.
- Proven track record of successfully leading transformation projects and delivering measurable results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong knowledge of business process modeling tools and methodologies (e.g., BPMN, Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of process intelligence capabilities (process mining, task mining) is a plus.
- Proficiency in process mapping and analysis tools (e.g., Visio, ARIS etc.).
- Experience with change management principles and practices.
- Strong project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $102,500 to $187,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $122,900 to $213,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
